What sort of role does strength play in the WR makeup? I've been concentrating on the Major attributes for ages, but am beginning to wonder if strength shouldn't be on the backburner?

These are his key stats.

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 10
Speed: 104.86 (+20)
Agility: 56.86
Jumping: 23.31
Stamina: 31.31
Vision: 54.86
Confidence: 50.26

Football Skills
Blocking: 10
Catching: 53.86
Tackling: 10
Throwing: 10
Carrying: 22.71
Kicking: 8
Punting: 8

Anyone got any advice, he's currently level 32.

i think it comes in handy when fighting off defenders trying to knock the ball loose or breaking tackles,
but you don't want to waste any SP on it. if you want to build it up, do so by training only.
i wouldn't worry about it too much until you get to level 50 or even higher.
i've just started training strength on my level 57.

this. it is mainly going to come into play when both your WR, and the CB or FS or whatever are both interacting with the ball at the same time. think of it as fighting for the ball.

it also of course helps your break tackle score, your not fumble score, and your blocking score.

so in short, it is definitely something you should work on (with at least training... keep in mind that most CBs arent getting ALGs on strength either) later in the build.

my Level 15 Wr has 82 strength, obviously an experiment and when he catches the ball breaks many tackles. Doesn't move real fast but gets the yds needed on 3rd down.

Discontinue with strength - continue only on speed, catching and agility for the remainder of your player...

if you are talking about your WR, victory cruz, you did just fine by taking strength up first... although you probably made the mistake of taking strength too high. strength WRs need so many attributes in order to be effective that its hard to take attributes up as high as you did and still have room for everything else.

that being said, you are going to have a hard time balancing out, so it is probably going to be best if you choose one direction and go with it -- whether that be a more possession str build or a speedier str build. if you see this post and say which direction you want to lean more towards, i can tell you which attributes you are going to want to work on next.
