--Week 5--
1. (4-0) Tecmo All Stars
The All Stars have gotten through the tough part of their schedule, surviving a very good game against the Saints. The defense has been lights out, posting 3 shutouts, and allowing 13 points total all season, and doing so against 3 of the better teams in the conference. The offense needs to get going if Tecmo wants to be the clear favorite to take the league.
Next Game: vs. (0-3-1) Ole Miss Rebels - This is like taking candy from a baby.
2. (4-0) Honolulu Beach Boys
The Beach Boys have looked stellar so far this season. They manhandled two very solid teams in Long Beach and Los Angeles. So far this season they look to be the clear favorite to take the West. The Boys boast a stellar offensive line, that has led them to having one of the top offensives in the league. Don't look for the Boys to stop anytime soon, they may be looking at an unblemished record folks.
Next Game vs. (1-3) Ugene Slugs - Although the Slugs have just a 1-3 record, the Boys can't sleep on em, they have a very solid team, and will be looking for a major upset.
3. (4-0) Timpangos Thunder
The Thunder have come out strong to start the season. They are a solid team all the way around with great chemistry. They beat a very good Ewoks team, but are coming up on the extremely tough part of their schedule, so we'll see how serious this team really is. Cezar Montalvo has been a stud thus far, and is a strong candidate for the defensive player of the year.
Next Game vs (3-1) Mighty Chihuahuas - The game of the week....#3 vs. #10
4. (3-1) Long Beach Dub All Stars
Since taking a tough defeat Week 1, the other All Stars, have since taken care of business winning 3 straight. They had their marquee win against #8 Chicago, which got them this high on the list. Noone has really stood out for Long Beach, and that's the way they like it. They can beat you in a number ways, and they are an all around unselfish football team who just gets the job done.
Next game vs. (3-1) Possum Trot Plague - Expect Long Beach to take this one, but it wouldn't surprise anyone if the Plague pulled an upset.
5. (4-0) Awesomeville Bearphins
The good news: The Bearphins have looked stellar so far this season, crushing their first four opponents. They have ran up the score on all four teams, and noone has been able to stop the early favorite for MVP Awesome Lee . The Bearphins also have one of the top defenses in the league, surrending just 13 points all season
The bad news: They have yet to play a team with a pulse. The four teams they have beaten have a combined 0 wins.
Next Game vs (0-4) Buffalo Chips - Another winless team, expect some more stats for Awesome Lee.
6. (3-1) Tana River Ewoks
The Ewoks are slowly flying under the radar so far. They just had a solid win against the Mighty Taco Bell Dogs. Raul Manning has been perfect leading the Ewoks so far, with 7 TDs and 0 INTs. Tyante seems to have this team in the right direction.
Next Game vs. (2-2) Dallas Hitmen - The Hitmen have a very good team, the Ewoks have their hands full with this one.
7. (4-0) New Jersey Blaze
The Blaze have come out on fire, starting out undefeated. Mat Williams has been an early terror with 4 sacks so far. The one knock on the Blaze, is they are yet to beat a good team, so until they prove themselves, it will be tough for them to move up.
Next game vs (3-1) FC Hezbollah - This is the best team the Blaze has played so far, so this is their chance to prove they aren't a fluke.
8. (3-1) Chicago Inferno
It seems to be a common theme with solid team after solid team in the stacked Western Conference. The Inferno are just another one of those teams. Led by Brady Lead (not to be confused with Leaf) the Inferno have a very strong passing attack. He has distrubted the ball around very well, and the Inferon have a number of recievers who can do damage.
Next game vs. (0-4) Las Vegas Aces - Expect some numbers to be put up in this one for Mr. Lead.
9. (4-0) Philadelphia Pigeons
The 4th 4-0 team in the East. The Pigeons have been a big surprise so far this season. Although they have had some nail biters, this team has a chance against anyone with Roger Starbuck leading the way. It should be interesting to see if this team can keep it up.
Next game vs. (2-2) Tampa Bay Krakens - This will be a tough matchup for the Pigeons, should be a very good game.
10. (3-1) Mighty Chihuahuas
Rounding out the top 10 is the Mighty Chihuahuas or as I'd like to call them, the Taco Bell Dogs. The TB Dogs have a very talented team, and can play with the best of them in the West. Don't expect this team to go anywhere, they are a real contender.
Next game vs. (4-0) Timpanogos Thunder - The Game of the Week
Game of the Week #3 Timpanogos Thunder vs #10 Mighty Chihuahuas- Should be interesting, The Taco Bell Dogs can really prove themselves in this one, and the Thunder need to win to keep pace with Honolulu.
