Still missing 4 AEQ upgrades which I plan to put into speed.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1425095 - Not too experienced with WRs, so not sure what to do with this guy.

Not sure if I should concentrate on catching and jumping to make him a possession WR. (I could end up with about 80 catching end build) or just turn him into a blocking WR with 2nd capped blocking that can occasionally make catches.

I'm currently quad training vision, stamina, confidence, catching and can quad train until end of build and have enough BT for the 7 AEQ upgrades he has left.

Carrying to 68, confidence to 48, Spin to 11, everything else into catching, all EQ to Speed, lose Possesion WR and put it all into Quick Feet. If you can get a catch ball% piece that would be huge.

Will be very viable if you can do all that and get speed to 130+.

I prefer 1 catch ball and 1 break tackle % on these type of WRs (I have 3 break tackle WRs in Pro/WL now).

As opposed to 2 of BT%

Fake does nothing for a Spin Bot.

If you could afford 4 AEQ
1 Spin
1 BT %
1 Catch Ball %
1 Catch or BT% (I would go catch)

speed to 130 is going to happen with equipment and ALG alone.

I can get quick feet to 15 without taking anything out of possession WR.

I could get rid of one of the 2 BT% piece and get a make catch % piece but would need to do some relaxed training. If I did, I could replace +3 strength with +3 speed.
I have 40 sp to play with.

I'd have to do some relaxed training for BT, so I would end up needing to spend 8 in confidence
Carrying to 68 would only cost 9 sp. (17)
Taking spin past 9 would be very expensive. To take it to 9 would take 10. To take it to 11 would take 25.

If I only did 9 spin then would probably be

75 strength
133.xx speed
54.22 jumping
54.xx stamina
54.xx vision
50.xx confidence
71.xx catching
68 or 69.xx carrying
5-2
8-3-5-9-1
+25% make catch
+25% break tackle
spin/head fake/juke/ +30%

then I would have 13 sp on top of that so I could get jumping to the 61 cap or catching to the 74 cap.

I am not at all convinced that strength needs to be that high, but that is pretty similar to one of my WRs (I have more catching, jumping and vision, a little less speed and less FS...and your build is probably more effective in that regard).

How about this?

Attributes:
strength : 71.93
speed : 81.28 - +52 = 133.28
agility : 82.15
jumping : 54.22
stamina : 53.28
vision : 53.15
confidence : 49.97
blocking : 33
throwing : 9
catching : 75.15
carrying : 69.84 - +3 = 72.84
tackling : 8
kicking : 8
punting : 8

Top SA Tree: | 5 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Bottom SA Tree: | 9 | 3 | 4 | 7 | 0 |

Veteran Abilities
Mr. Reliable: 15
Possession Receiver: 6
Quick Feet: 15
Slippery: 15
YAC attack: 15

make catch +25%
break tackle +25%

or I could add 3 more pts of speed and lose 5 pts of catching

In the current sim I think 3 speed definitely > 5 catching, especially since I've never seen a huge jump in catch rates from 70-75 catching.

I'm currently building a guy who will have 80+ strength endgame, but that's under the new archetypes, where it seems almost wasteful not to take advantage of the ALGs.

Curious to see if anyone has tried Power Thru on a WR--always assumed Spin>Power Thru, but with 80+ strength I feel like Power Thru might actually be viable.

I had no love on a TE with power through with strength 85+ so I would assume a WR would suffer the same fate. PT needs forward momentum.

tbh too many things in this game are based on momentum which is why speed is king

Yeah, that's why I was wary of it. Maybe if WR screens start working better it could be viable, but it doesn't seem like Power Thru would be of much use with the types of YAC tackles in which power receivers specialize.
