I am just about to embark on creating my first punter, I've run the numbers and I kind of have a plan.

I'm going to aim in the end (11 seasons) to have 3 pieces of AEQ, confidence at 100, strength at 100 and Punting at 100. Also I want 10 in each SA. I've done all the maths but I wanted to get thoughts on a couple of things.

Don't you get diminishing returns on taking any attribute over 100 with EQ? Or would I be better off going less confidence (say 90) and 110 on punting?

On the other attributes I'm probably going to end up around 60 agility, 60 jumping, 60 vision and 45 stamina.... I'm not touching anything else.

Should vision really be higher than this, even though it's classed as a secondary attribute for a punter?

I'm doing this because I'm taking it literally that a primary should be 100 and secondary about 60.

In general I like very high punting, because most of the str builds I've seen don't work, however, sometimes they do...you can see how it sometimes turns out right here:

I've also seen high punting builds that don't work as well, so anything's worth a shot i'd say.

There are no diminishing returns for Attributes over 100.

Well, I ran my player through the player builder script of how I want to train him and what I should do... with three pieces of AEQ... this is roughly what my punter will look like by day 440 of his career... this is with three SA based AEQs

This is multi-training the secondary attributes for most of the career and then switching to light late on to get enough BT.

Could probably drop confidence by 10 and go for 87 vision.

Attributes:
strength : 111.49 (+20)
speed : 6
agility : 66.16
jumping : 55.16
stamina : 41
vision : 77.16
confidence : 101.48 (+15)
blocking : 8
throwing : 8
catching : 8
carrying : 8
tackling : 10
kicking : 8
punting : 122.49 (+20)

Top SA Tree: | 10 | 10 | 10 | 0 | 0 |

I don't think vision > 80 makes any difference, honestly. I like it like it is.

Well, I tried doing this a different way in the player builder this morning. I basically upgraded the training to the top so you have enhanced training working with multi train. Then switching to light later on to get the BT.

I still had enough bonus tokens for two pieces fully loaded of AEQ (buying them from scratch) and some left over which could be used for SP.

Because I was one piece of AEQ down, I lost 3 off one off the attributes, but I basically had the same as above.

Punting was one lower.
Strength same
Agility 70
Jumping 61
Confidence 98 (lost three from losing one piece of AEQ)
Stamina 48
Vision 79

Still have 10 in all three on the punting tree.

So surely this is a no brainer if you look at the comparison. It's the first time I've compared enhanced training + multi training side by side.

The loss in confidence doesn't bother me, the gains in vision, stamina jumping and agility are quite something.
