Who knows, maybe Bort secretly up the value of blocking for DL players. Has anybody think about giving it another try? Say once you get a nice str/spd/agi combo with decent sta/vis/conf/tak that you will try to get block up to at least 2nd cap to see how beneficial that may be?

2ndcap is a bit much... especially now that we no longer get ALG's in blocking.
I trained it initially on my STR DE to 31 and was gonna let ALG's take it up to 40... but then i chose an archetype... so experiment cancelled... i don't want to use SP's on it to find out, at least not with this build.
Someone should make a STOP and see if the increased blocking helps or not.

I trained it into the low 30's late in my DE's career when there was nothing left to train. Didn't see any difference but there have been so many changes it's hard to say what that means.

That makes sense. I never looked too closely, I just remembered seeing it on some of them.

I believe that other users overstated the importance of blocking for defense and tackling for offense to poison builds of the gullible.
GLB has made it a lot easier to build good players. Stick with the attributes that have gold and blue stars.

actually Bort said blocking is suppose to help shed blocks, like in season 2...

its also under the attribute description if you have a DL and hold your mouse over blocking.

I also remember it being said that it is such a small part of the equation that you would be much better served putting those points into strength or agility. This seems to be one of those early game ideas that people hopped on before it was revealed that it just doesn't do much. That, and back in the day a little bit of blocking was an ALG (same as tackling was an ALG for an OT). I don't think you will help your build at all if you go the blocking route. STOPs, on the other hand, can benefit from that.

my old DT's have had blocking in the 30's, and I think it was a total waste. I would much rather have those points in str or agil or even jump!
