Technician gives you kicking and vision as majors, whereas Boomer replaces the vision major with a strength major. It's been a long time since my last Kicker build, but as I recall, kicking and vision were by far the most important attributes to a Kicker, so why would you defy that logic by majoring in an attribute that isn't nearly as important? Furthermore, back in my days KR/PR men didn't have a choice at returning kicks a certain distance - now they do, consequently compromising touchbacks and further hurting Boomer builds.

Basically, Boomer looks like crap. Thoughts?

Kicking and Confidence are by far the most important attributes for a kicker. IMO vision and strength are equals. I lean toward Boomer simply because additional strength helps hit more TBs, while 78 or so vision seems to be more than enough.

Strength=78, vision=90, conf=93, kicking=127, bigboot=16
(plus agility=50, and soccer star, boom kick, genius, and workout warrior all at 15)

Kickoffs average about 68 or 69 yards last season,
100% on fg's less than 50 yds, 7 of 24 on fg's more than 50 yds(usually accuracy, not distance is the issue).

I know the argument about real life fg's of 50+ yds, BUT I see other kickers regularly making 55 and 60 yd fg's.

How do I get 73 yd kickoffs and/or at least 50% on 50+ yd. fg's?

(and it wasn't my decision to be trying 24 fg's of 50+yds!!!--there were team reasons that I willingly accept.)

More Kicking. More str will help a little, but more kicking is where it's at.

Personally, I went with Kicking-Vision-Confidence-Strength

77 K first
77 VIS second
77 CONF third
Then work on STR when I get others where I want them...

I may not make the LONG FG at this point but by the time I get to to the upper levels my STR will be sufficient...

I have noticed that CONF is HUGE...When my K missed a kick, it all went down hill from there...BUT, when CONF gets to where I want it that shouldn't be a problem...And by then my STR will be getting up there too, so I can work more on distance...

I'm not too worried about these lower levels, just looking to be an ace in the uppers...And from the builds I have viewed these seem to work great...I am going more into training STR than most of these builds, but I guess we will see how it works out...

why is boomer useless? when you can get TB much early on?

Really, both ATs are useless compared to the old ALGs in K and Con. Kicking is the biggie when it comes to KOs or FGs.

You don't really need more than 130 kicking though. Also Vision is better know that it is a major. The only reason to go confidence before is because of the automatic levels. You can get your confidence high with confidence SA/VAs. You'll get a higher percentage of kicks at all ranges if you have higher vision.

With the new ATs, if you like vision more than confidence, then you should do that first.
