Warrior General Games

Things are beginning to shake out a little. In the East, the Night Marchers (ex. Ghosts) had a rough introduction to the league this week and took a statistical tumble in the ratings. The Bootleggerz passed their first real test so far this season against the Rocks. The Marauders face the Rocks in two weeks and that should be a key game for both teams, as the Marauders have played lower/mid level teams so far.

In the West, the Bulls and Toros renew their rivalry next week in a game that should go a long way towards telling who is the best this season. Compton and the Six Shooters have a big showdown as well, and it should be a heckuva game between two very good teams who could easily push the Bulls and Toros for tops in the West. And are the Bengals and Fighters for real? Can they challenge the top teams in the West come the playoffs? It will be fun finding out!

Wow the Toros keep slipping down that list, we handed the Vikings there only loss and they are a head of us.

Well, that just means that even though you don't put up big numbers, you keep winning. Last season, the Dream Team was ranked #3 and yet they lost three games during the season because of coaching. To me, being lower on the list and still winning is indicative of good coaching.

Also, Compton's numbers are slightly skewed because their other three opponents have been from the lower half of the conference standings. Meanwhile, the Toros have faced the All-Stars and Vikings. Maybe I need to develop a strength of schedule modifier to make these a little more valid.

Well, like you said, it will even out by the end of the season. The strength of schedule modifier would give it a better "snapshot" of the game by game standings, but at the end of the season it will work itself out based on performance.

It evens out after game 15, actually, but gets a little "unfair" again after game 16.

What I'd really like to know is the actual formula you used for this ranking.

No formula at all. Just take the rankings (1-32) in each of nineteen categories, figure the average, and add the number of losses. Voila! No muss, no fuss.

bgm, i was gonna say, i would take over the rankings if you like, but i would have to use my own formula. It would be something like this..

1. OKLAHOMA BOOTLEGGERZ
2. some other team
3. some other team
4. some other team
