lvl10
73,5 str (trained to 98%)(81,5 whit equipment)
15agi
12,5speed
12,5vision
24,5 tackeling

i'm going to start multitraining agi/speed/tackling/vision.
while putting points into str till its lvl 81 and then training 2% for 82

the question is do i cap speed or agi next, speed is major but i think agi is more important.

i'm combo becouse i wanted to use pass rush talents later whitout losing str as a major.
(fyi: non boosting)

thoughts?

Do the majors first. You just don't have to take them up as high. Then take agility up to 87 later.

I look at other player stats and watch every game my DT plays. My DT started off slow, picked it up, then fell off here lately. I looked at other peoples DT's and it seems like those with high agility are the ones with alot of hurries. Thats jus my opinion.

It is true. My DT has good agi and has alot of hurrys. Now I'm working on speed/tackle to get those ever so elusive sacks.

imo, the thing with combo DTs is that since you wont have asmuch agility as other DTs, you have to rely more on rev cakes than just broken blocks. and so you really have to focus in strength and get that rather high, probably put most if not all EQ in there. and then after you get speed up, and agility is starting to be half decent, and if you chose FS as your bonus SA, you should be able to rev cake, and FS to the QB for the sack.

Someone show me DTs getting sacks at the top levels of the game due to speed.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=1167263&playoffs=0

31 hurries and 2 sacks with 4 PDs on 540 plays in the WL

Also, 28 tackles with 22 missed tackles and 9 TFLs.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=1088695&playoffs=0

25 hurries and 1 sack with 8 PDs on 504 plays in the WL.

Also, 32 tackles with 7 missed and 7 TFls.

Roughly the same rate.

Show me where the 20+ points of speed and 9 points of first step are making the difference in pass defense?

Those numbers are very impressive...but I can't evaluate what is coming from playing lack-luster teams and what isn't...

Or what is due to speed for that mater.

It's hard to tell. Jacques got to play on 3rd down. SBS got rid of most of his pass rusher (had already used a few reset points) because Robert Cage Jr. was being forced in on 3rd down. We don't know how SBS would perform with 15 pass rusher and getting to rush when it was active.

Also, it helped against the run. 28 tackles and 22 missed is just as good as 32 made and 7 missed IMO because many times the missed tackles are slowing down the HB for someone else to clean up.

I've noticed that also.

A lot of times when DTs miss a lot of tackles it tells me they're breaking blocks and getting chances in the backfield. A lot of DT missed tackles are due to Short Yardage Monster IMO.

To be fair, Jacques doesn't have Pass Rusher either...I don't have the scripts here at work but maybe I will take a look later tonight to see how they compare on average YPT. I used to always note that fast DTs would make a fair number of tackles in pursuit, 5+ yards downfield. Those are very low value tackles for s DT in my estimation. Your point on broken tackles behind the LOS slowing down the play is very good however.
