Since everyone had the Copper craze, I've thought of a new idea.

You can sign a maximum of 23 human players. Since the minimum is 40, you can keep 17 CPUs on the bench. With your 23 players, you must play them both ways and on STs. I'm thinking about making a limited amount of positions. (Idea below). With the 23 players, you can use everything like a regular team.

The stragery is to build around the OOPs, and build players that can compete at every spot.

THERE WILL BE NO POSITION LIMITS. You can build a team of 23 TEs if you'd like.


You can create any 23-man roster. As for ignoring the CPUs, keep them benched. (Off the Depth Chart).

As for how it'll be set-up, depending on interest, it'll either be a Double Elimnation tournament, or it'll be a full league schedule with 2-4 leagues and by day 30, taking the top 4 from each league and having a 16-team single elimination tournament. So basically here's how it'd go:

HOW IT'S SET-UP/LEAGUES: To lower the cost and games, I will be finding a conference and buying it out with the 16 teams, and playing out the season from there, play-offs will be played exactly like real teams play. Since the first game is out of conference, and you can't control who you play, if a team loses a play-off spot because of it, we'll have a friendly scrimmage between the 2 teams and winner will move on. The rest will play the league play-offs, while the 2 will basically have a play-in game. Example of how the bracket would look:

Seed 1 vs Play-in winner. If the team that wins the play-in is there in the first place, then they will just keep the league play-offs like Normal. If not, we'll have our own tournament outside of the real league play-offs to make sure it's fair.
Seed 4 vs Seed 5
Seed 2 vs Seed 7
Seed 3 vs Seed 6

PMs will be sent out for the league Day 42/43.

I would love to do this. Any chance bort could put us all in a league.

We'd get our asses kicked in our regular league and have to pay for each non-conference match. Ouch!

Or we could just use our regular teams and modify them for the Iron Man matches.

That. However, with the buy a team feature, I wonder if we could be able to just buy out a whole league by ourselves. I'll send Support a message.

We tried to do various things to get the depth chart to stick, I could never get my depth chart to stay.

For my games I used 20 guys. I filled every slot on O and D two deep. One game I only filled the basic ST positions using some but not all of the 20 men. Another game I filled every ST slot with at least one man using all 20 guys.

OAI and DAI were turned off, only basic settings were used. One game energy was set to 1/2 another it was set to 98/99. No custom depth chart slots were used.

If anyone has tried a 20 man scrim and had luck I'd like to compare notes.

You may want to run through some scrims and see if you can figure out how to get the depth chart to stay.

Allow us to use Bort's sim engine for a lower cost (IE: less players)?? Yeah right!

EllisBell is going to review it. He's trying to figure out what the whole concept is atm. We've exchanged a few PMs.

Well my goal is to 1. Get us in a league so that you don't end up playing 30+ games, while being able to only compete for this league and 2. Making it a league so that no one has to kill a good amount of flex (50x16/20).

I've seen a lot of progress with Support for once, and EllisBell has been really helpful, so i'll give updates as we go.

If you made a Iron Man league with boosting/CE Bort would get paid and it would be a blast.

I'd love to see it with even less players. 15 or less.

That would be a new spin and would probably draw a lot of guy into it.

20 is the fewest players you can field on a roster. 15 would be ideal, but the entire game would have to be recoded to allow for it.

Hopefully this can generate some interest and remind Bort that creating an actual Iron Man League is still reportedly near the top of his to-do list
