Here is his build. I'm wondering:

1) What to train next?
2) I have 3 veteran points saved up. Where to put them?
3) I want to build another piece of AEQ. What bonus abilities to choose?

Confidence:28.5

1. Tackling, no question. Having it that low is a fail IMHO. LBs tackle, thats what they do. He may be a coverage guy but he'll be making tackles on running plays. Tackling should be higher than Strength for a LOLB. After that, Jumping. Also needs to be in the low 30s soon.
2. I found it difficult to chose a VA for young LOLBs as there's nothing that jumps out to help them. Pick one now and reset it later. Goal Line or 3rd Down might be useful for now.
3. Make Tackle % or First Step with +3 Speed or Agility.

Yeah I know tackling needs to be higher. He hardly ever misses tackles at these low levels so I focused on other things. LOLB need everything, so working on tackling now or earlier really doesn't matter in the long term. Thanks for the response.

Any other advice?

I'd pick Football Genius for a VA.

I'd multi train jumping, tackling, vision, and strength while taking agility and speed to 74. then vision to 74.

get the Virtual Player Builder 3.0 (VPB). this lets you see what kind of path to take for optimal results. its very handy. after doing a dozen mock builds i see where and how my guys need to go with their builds.

Too early to spend anything SP on tackling, just start training it up now (probably with stamina, confidence, and jumping)and cap it AFTER Speed, Agility, and Vision are done. LBs can get by on Agility and Make Tackle % alone all the way through the minors.

Agility to 74, Speed to 77 would be my next two priorities. LOLBs get the most pass coverage of the LBs so you want him too look kinda like a big CB with STR and Tackle hitting 68-70 towards the end of the build.

+1 on these points, Every LB needs MT% and VAs are hard to choose, I like Clutch for young LBs.

Sorry to hijack the thread but my question is relevant.

I figured people are going to start making 140+ speed TEs (I know I am). Therefore I took my LOLB's Speed to 79 off the bat (with the cheap train). I just got his Agility to 73+.

Why would you not take speed/agility to 77? How unbalanced would the build be if I did that with my guy?

Build is open:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1995365

Str:21.33
Tkl 27.33 (+1)<-- Endorsement
Spd:107.66 (+24)
Agi:73.668
Jmp:33.66
Stm:20.33
Vis:37.66
Con:16.33

SAs
Pass Rusher Abilities Trash:1, The G:1, Shed :1, Swat :1, Big S:1
Additional Abilities Super:0, Shutd:2

VAs
3DS:5

Edit: I also am training exactly what you said above (before you said it) which makes me think I'm on the right track.
