General Information

Welcome to the 8th Annual Casual Addicts Tournament. The rules for this year's tournament will be slightly different from the past. So please read closely.

Who is Eligible:

The season 17 tournament will be open to Casual League Pro, AAA, and AA teams only.

Tournament Description:

A little different than in years past. Will have two stages : Group and Elimination.

Group Stage:

There will be 8 Groups with 4 teams in each group totaling 32 total teams (We can add more if demand is high enough). The Top 8 teams will be placed in separate groups. The remaining 24 teams will be randomly assigned to a group. The group seedings will be announced live on GLB radio (Date: TBA). The Max Amount of games a team would play is 7. (3 in group play, 4 for the elimination section).
There will be a three day window for each game to be scheduled which allows plenty of time for the tournament to conclude before the regular GLB playoffs.

Tentative Schedule of play:
GROUP PHASE
Game 1: .... days 1-3
Game 2: .... days 4-6
Game 3: .... days 7-9

ELIMINATION ROUNDS
Round of sixteen: .. days 10-12
Quarter-Finals: ...... days 13-15
Semi-Finals: .......... days 16-18
Finals: ..................... days 19-21

Group Stage Scoring:
-- W = 3 points
-- W in OT = 2 points
-- L in OT = 1 point
-- T = 1 point

If tied at end of group stage:
1st Tiebreak: Number of Regulation W's
2nd Tiebreak: Point Differential
3rd Tiebreak: Number of Points Scored.

Elimination Round:
The Top 2 teams in each seed will advance to the elimination round. The elimination round will look like the below graphic.

Scrimmage Rules

When you set up the scrimmage please select these and only these options:

General Rules
– You will schedule your own matches
– If a GM signs a team up, verification will be made with Owner
– A PM will be sent to owner upon signup to verify T.O.C. of the Casual Addicts Tournament.
– You must schedule these scrimmages within the 3 day window provided above (failure to do so may result in a forfeit)
– Each match will cost the team owner 25 Flex Points
– Once a match is scheduled, it cannot be unscheduled, and there are no Flex Point refundsPrizes:

Prize Pool: 30% of all Addict Funds Raised (Last season 16k was raised)

1st place – 45% of Prize Pool + GOLD Trophy
2nd place – 30% of Prize Pool + SILVER Trophy
3rd place – 15% of Prize Pool + BRONZE Trophy
Tournament MVP (chosen by the Addicts organizers) – 10% of Prize Pool + MVP Trophy

When signing up, please include your team URL, Season 17 league affiliation and Season 16 record/League Affiliation. This thread will be locked and pool will be set when we reach 32 teams. Any additional information (historical, etc) you wish to provide is also acceptable. In addition post that you agree to the TOC Terms of Participation.

Who sponsors / organizes this tournament?

The Addicts Tournament is sponsored by the Addicts Community and sanctioned by GLB. All winnings are paid by Addict Members.

Who is eligible to play in the tournament?

The tournament field is selected by public announcement and sign up period. You want to be the best, you have to put yourself out there.
Pro, AAA, and AA Casual teams are able to register within the signup period. First come, first serve for the higher level teams.

What are the prizes?

First place gets 45% of Prize Pool from the tourney organizers and an official Gold trophy for being the Addict Tourney Champs. Second place gets 30% of Prize Pool and a Silver trophy. Third place gets 15% of Prize Pool and a Bronze trophy. The MVP get 10% of Prize Pool and a trophy for their profile page.

What is the Prize Pool?

In previous seasons we would raise money to meet a total of 20,000 flex to be paid out. 30.00% of the prize pool went to the casual tournament while the remaining of the pool went to the bracket challenge and main tournament. This will continue but this time there will be no cap on the funds that are raised. The official prize pool will be calculated as such:
Prize Pool = (Total Flex Raised) – (MVP Flex) – (Bracket Challenge Flex) – (Addicts Tournament)

What are the tiebreakers?

If, at the end of the group round, two teams are tied in their group standings, the result of their head–to–head match will be the tiebreaker. If three teams are tied, cumulative points differential is the tiebreaker. Once in the bracket, if a game ends in a tie, total yards gained will be the tiebreaker.

Are there scheduling guidelines / deadlines?

We do ask that you schedule the games as soon as the groups are announced. We will make efforts to schedule the games for you if for some reason you cannot get a scrimmage scheduled; however, please do not rely on the auto scheduler.
