And even though he was handed a team, he co-owned them to 15-1 and a league championship game. And for him to stay in Gold 7 seasons is a feat very few teams have been able to live up too.

Maybe you don't understand how the promotion system ended up working? The only reason that copper team was ever promoted is because all the silver teams that were in line were declining so GLB just got desperate (leaving other top silver teams out not knowing it) and promoted this copper team.
