If my MLB's long term design is to be capable of crushing power rushers, should I be devoting all subsequent EQ bonuses to strength? when does the infamous Linebacker attribute-spreading necessity kick in? what else should point go into?

The Tackling attribute plays a bigger role in tackle quality.
According to Bort Strength is mainly about stopping the ball carrier from fighting for extra yards or using the Dive 4 YDS SA while you are tackling them.

As far as EQ, can't really tell you unless you open the build.

EQ is used to cover up a hole in the build, or take an attribute higher than it is feasible to with SP's. Using EQ efficiently would be to dump it all in the highest attribute, that would get you the most efficent use of your EQ points. Ussing EQ effectively would be to dump it into the attribute where it will do the most good for your build and your build goals, and without knowing your end game build, or current build we can't really tell you the most effective place to put th EQ.

I'd say EQ in tackling would do more to help you "crush" power runners, but too much tackling and no strength and your dot will most likely end up getting dragged, allowing extra yards and facing broken tackles. If your tackling skill is low EQ in tackling might still be a waste compared to EQ elsewhere. Also SPD is a good place for EQ as you can't make the play if you aren't fast enough to get there.

As with most things on GLB you'll find that no questions have simple answers and there is at least one stat-jockey with graphs and planograms for the best allocation of everything.

Yep. Knocking the ball loose is more of a Velocity thing. Speed and Tackling moreso than strength. Strength is more of a blocking/pushing/holding type thing.

It's not necessary to put all your EQ into one attribute, particularly for a MLB. Mikes need to be more balanced than OLBs that can focus more on speed and agility. OLBs will want speed of at least 105 or 110, MLB would rather trade 5-10 points of speed to get strength and tackling up over 80.

Darren is correct, your middle linebacker is not going to need massive speed because it's unlikely he'll be able to use it unless he's in coverage.
