1. Defenders of the Ancients vs 5. Seattle Renegades http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=1530&team2=1153
A recap of their last meeting:
Two INTs and a couple of Forced Fumbles made a big difference in this game, but then again the team that wins the turnover battle usually does take the W. The turnovers weren't the only thing DotA did, they won the time of possession battle too. Impressive consider a few quick scores put the ball right back in the Renegades hands; however, they still weren't able to do much.
I could go on about how horrible of a first quarter Seattle had, but I'm sure the first play of the game dropped their heart into their stomach... http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1211776&pbp_id=8564854 Follow that up with a 21.5 yards of offense where they stuck to their ground game and went no where; they had to sit back and watch DotA put up a 14 point lead.
The Renegades opened up their passing attack in the second quarter only to find themselves give up two INTs including this pick 6... http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1211776&pbp_id=8570066 They only put up another 23 yards of offense while giving up 4 sacks. Things weren't looking good and that FG didn't make things better as DotA sat on a 24-0 lead before Seattle finally saw the end zone.
Nothing really happened in the third quarter and unfortunately for the Renegades they were able to hold DotA to -3.5 yards of offense in the fourth quarter, but still gave up 14 points to them due to turnovers.
Defenders of the Ancients 55 over Seattle Renegades 16
Jons take on the game:
More than likely Seattle will find a way to correct those turnovers and they are paying attention now; I think. My only concern was how badly they played when they weren't paying attention. I just don't think they have enough to deal with the Ancients who seem determined to play in the World League next season.
Defenders of the Ancients win 30-26

2. Louisville Baby Kittens vs 6. Humboldt Killer Hornets http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=1494&team2=3421
A recap of their last meeting:
A very even match up in this crazy game, I mean four INTs for the Kittens and 5 INTs and a Fumble Lost for the Hornets. Both teams with 29 minutes with the ball and both teams' Kickers had issues with the Kittens K missing an easy FG and the Hornets' K missing 2 PATs. These guys really try their hardest to find a way to lose a game! However, a few INTs for a pick 6 and anyone that's trying can lose a game.
The first quarter was pretty boring as both teams took turns kicking up their defense, but the Hornets did close out the quarter ahead by 3. The second quarter was filled with some trade offs with INTs and a few scores, but those three FGs really tired out the Hornets' and he missed his first PATs. Never the less, the Hornets were up by one as the half came to an end.
Unfortunately for the Hornets only their Kick Returner and Kicker came out of the tunnel for the third quarter as their offense put up a whopping 34 yards and their defense gave up 171.5 yards of offense to the Kittens. Things were not looking good as the Kittens began to play and tied up the game.
The fourth quarter ended up with the Kittens defense making the difference in the game. Three INTs including two for pick 6's as the Kittens just rolled the Hornets to close out the game.
Louisville Baby Kittens 41 over Humboldt Killer Hornets 24
Jons take on the game:
It's hard to believe the Kittens found a way to take down the mighty Assault, but I'm betting they token boosted for that game! Now up against the surprising Hornets who I never would have thought would be in the position in their first season in the Pros; nicely done! I think the Hornets will make this a great game, but I'm not sure they have enough to pull this one off.
Louisville Baby Kittens win 36-30
