Don't even begin to discuss this, based off the facts you brought up I promise you I already won this ages ago.

I'm not talking about what the uninformed gaming community prefers, the community for microsoft windows vista is about 250 times larger than every other operating system, try using that as point to prove to me it would best ANY operating system when compared side by side.

I have never had any trouble with download or connection speed on PS3.

The "alleged" better "servers" that people always bring up when this conversation comes up is a result of exactly what you mentioned.

The "community" of XBOX is bigger (not because its better, but because it came out first, was cheaper, and we all know microsoft always wins the advertising war) therefore "gamers" are more attracted to it and play it.
"Gamers" have better internet connection than the every-day user, thus if you attract the gaming community you will appear to have better "servers" even though the game people are comparing are all P2P networking.

The "Gamer" to "Non-Gamer" ratio has always been an issue that has plagued P2P networking, and has been until recently (when Dial-Up pretty much vanished) the largest issue with console games succeeding via online play.

Sports games online on the PS3 are shit... This is coming from someone who has/had both a 360 and a PS3 (Sold that shitty ass PS3). PS3 online is free for a reason, it blows.

Every sports game I've ever played is 100% P2P networking, your connection in the game has absolutely nothing to do with the system, rather just the ping between you and the player you are facing.

Again, don't use connection speed in a P2P (Player to Player) game as an excuse for why one system is better than another.

There are 5 PS3s and 2 360s in this house, I will never throw away a dime on that shitstick microsoft calls a system.

"Looky at us, we have absolutely nothing more to offer than PS3, we are going to charge you to access the same online content PS3 users have, and you are going to smile and fight tooth and nail everytime someone tries to point it out"
-Microsoft

Man if only people knew anything about what they talked about online then people wouldn't have ignored the huge push for people to purchase PS3s and wouldn't have fallen in to the trap that is Microsoft.

The only reason your connection at any time to the XBOX server is better than the PS3 server is because Microsoft at this point has had to add more servers to deal with the massive server demand during peak hours (head on over to PS3 during these times because unless you have 10+ MB/S internet WELCOME TO LAG on xbox) and when you play at off-peak hours you get to enjoy a bit more lag-free downloads in the home screen.

But to be honest, if you are buying a system for a little better connection during the little GUI of xbox that you probably use once a month, then maybe you should consider buying PS3 just for its blue-ray technology, as it is much more useful than a ping inside of the ONE thing that the server is run off of (BECAUSE CONSOLE GAMES ARE ALMOST ALL P2P NETOWRKING, MICROSOFT DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING!!! I MEAN ANYTHING!!! TO DO WITH YOUR CONNECTION IN GAME!) which is a pretty much useless little interface that people just swiftly go through to get to the actual content the games.

Don't even get me started on graphics and upkeep of the systems, because that is where microsoft starts to look really bad.
