LVL 43 DE. My DE has never really played good in his career. He always ends up with the least amount of sacks for a DE on my team, or second to last. What am I doing wrong?

First thing that rings out to me is that you have 15 in Power Tackler for some reason, a RDE is not a Power Tackler imo. You should have those 15 points in something like Technique Man, Quick, Clutch or even Streaky. I would work on Vision - 61 or even 68, Confidence to 61, and Stamina to 48. If you don't have a piece of Break Block % I would try to find one or build one when you can afford it, also put some points in Tunnel Vision eventually.

Yeah I noticed power tackler too. It's a nice VA for run stuffing DL who make a lot of tackles in the backfield (or LBs with high tackling), but at DE you should work on some other VAs first. Technique man will help on passing downs. Streaky is a good choice too IMO, if you can live with the occasional -5% game. I would add heavyweight to that list, as it helps with revcakes and works on all downs. Pass Rusher only works on 3rd/4th down passes and I believe technique man only works on passing downs, so I'd probably think about streaky/heavyweight to give you some VA help on all downs.

Also you should only do streaky as part of a VA reset, so you can put 15 points into it at one time.

Thanks guys. I will make sure to reset power tackler the next chance we get. I'm also going to start working on Vision, Stamina, and confidence

This guy has 15 power tackler, and he is an RDE. Not many out there with Career numebrs like him.

You are correct, not many people play in nearly as many blowout games as your player.

Keep adding VP to Jump the Snap and add to Technique Man. You are a bit underleveled in your current league.

Your SA are too low for your level and level of competition. You really need to get your FS, SB, and TV to at least 8.

Also, as others have mentioned, Power Tackler need to go, and in my opinion too early for Stonewall too. Get JTS to 15, TM to 15, BR to 15 and then you can mess around with others. (In my opinion you need to get Streaky to 15, but that's still debatable and I will leave that up to you.)

JTS doesn't need to be at 15. It's fine if you leave it between 7 and 10. That will be enough to help you get the snap jump most of the time.

Also, don't add to your SAs yet. I'd work on STR until you get it to about 77 and then VIS to 68 and then think about SAs. STR is a big part of the break block roll and vision will help with the snap jump.

I don't see any issue with Power Tackler for an RDE but I would go with some other VA's first. Namely, JTS to 10 and perhaps Technique Man or Streaky (if you can bump it up to at least 10 in one swoop). I personally would take out those points in Relentless Pursuit and Stonewall and place them elsewhere.

Only other thing I would suggest is training confidence to get it up over 40 and getting vision to 68, as others have said, or even a little higher. Big fan of high vision on a DE.

At Lv43 you are on track to have a great DE in one or two seasons.

If you know how to take points out of an SA, definitely tell us.

You can swap it for another SA that is more useful.

Forgot that goes in the SA tree. I guess swap it like Hagalaz suggested. Got to be something more useful.
