Week 8:
Week 7 went about as expected. The only real surprise was SOUTH GEORGIA topping Richmond. That will move SOUTH GEORGIA up, but who will be 4th seed now?
1-3 stay the same. The Honolulu/Austin/New Jersey triangle is safe, and likely to remain that way till the playoffs. So who is in #4 now that Richmond lost last week?..... It's still Richmond. Why? Even with the loss, they are better than everyone else. Number 5 is a bit of a mystery. KKAR held the spot last week, but a sub par performance against the Buccaneers makes me wonder. Still, I have to give them the nod for now. They beat the Beasts, the Weasels, and the MACHINE, so they remain in 5th. The Beasts remain in 6th place, mostly because KKAR beat them, but they are clearly in the drivers seat, and you will have to beat them to move up. SOUTH GEORGIA on the strength of their win against Richmond, moves up to #7, shuffling everyone else down a notch. 8-11 stay in the same order, just a slot down. The last 4 remain the same till proven otherwise.

Game 1: Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers VS SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL
SOUTH GEORGIA just came off a huge win against Richmond, unfortunately they are about to face a WL quality team, for just the 2nd time this season(the first was a scrimmage). Considering the circumstances, it won't be an embarrassment to loose by this much, but it will temper the joy they got from last weeks win.
Game prediction: 75 - 17 Honolulu.
Game 2: Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys VS Chicago Blitz
Austin already faced the better of the two Chicago teams, and a 142 point loss to New Jersey gave a good indication as to where they are at in this league. It's going to be another high scoring, and embarrassing loss.
Game Prediction: 156 - 0 Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys.
Game 3: New Jersey Battalion VS Gaines Panthers
Take the express lane to an easy win.
Game prediction: 255 - 0 New Jersey.
Game 4: Richmond Rebel Yell VS Baton Rouge Buccaneers
Richmond gets and easy rebound game after last weeks loss. It won't totally heal the sting, but it will be like a little bit of aloe as they prepare for their week 9 game against Honolulu. They're going to need more aloe after that game.
Game prediction: 82 - 6 Richmond
Game 5: Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals VS Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens
KKAR has a history of close games against mid tier opponents. Corpus Christi want's some payback for their loss last week to the WAR MACHINE. If KKAR wins the game, they will hold onto the #5 seed. If Corpus Christi wins... they will be moving on up to the east side(Older Agents should get that reference). I am going to go with the previous records against the same opponents, and call the game for KKAR.
Game prediction: 32 - 16 KKAR
Game 6: Bratislava Lambeau Leapers VS Ontario Ice Weasels
Again, Ontario is a one trick pony, they don't even try to pretend otherwise. Bratislava on the other hand, needs a win, and needs it badly. Ontario lost 51 - 7 last week, and they should loose this week again, by a similar margin.
Game prediction: 46 - 7 Bratislava
Game 7: New Orleans Hoodoo Voodoo VS WAR MACHINE
Both teams are 4-3... Both are on track to get to the playoffs, and both need a win today. I have some history with both teams; played against New Orleans for the last two seasons, had Loonzilla's players on my own team at one point. Honestly this one is a toss up for me. But as I am not paid to make these decisions... I can go with my guts. Either way, it's going to be close.
Game prediction: 24 - 21 WAR MACHINE
Game 8: Chicago Beasts VS 8 Mile Assault
Since it's my own team, this is the most interesting game to me. 8 Mile is 1-6, which is pitiful, and people might ask why are they relevant? The answer is simple. With the exception of The SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL the teams they lost to in our conference are all top 4 teams. SOUTH GEORGIA has played 2 of the top teams, but got a free pass in the inter conference game, which will give them an edge in the rankings. How do I think this game will turn out? To tell the truth, I don't know. It should be close, and I am guessing somewhere in the high 20's. I am tired of betting against my team(even if I am good at picking the scores). So I will bet for them this time.
Game prediction: 27 - 24 8 Mile.
As always, take this with a grain of salt. If I might suggest one way to take your salt this week... Pretzels.. Big or little, hard baked, or soft, it's always a winner.
