Happened again, every time the other team lined up in the Proset, there was a huge gain, my short yardage play ran everytime...lol

why don't you test your ai? it might help a tad :/

I don't tag for a reason... just because a player is built for a purpose doesn't mean that player will not be used for another purpose. I welcome teams to tag my players because I throw with all three QBs, I run with two of my QBs and make handoffs inside and outside with all three QBs.

Please feel free to tag my HB, because I use all three to run the ball inside and out and all three can be targeted in the flats for a pass catch.

I welcome you to tag my FBs, because both are capable blockers and both can catch passes.

Tag away on my TE, because I pass to my blocking TE and I run behind my catching TE.

Anyone who sets themselves up to be tagged is asking to be shut down imo.

Unless you use each of those guys in every single way out of every single formation in every single situation....you can still be a victim of tagging.

and in which case you may be a victim of being ineffective at EVERYTHING!

I used to think along these lines until I realized that I don't have to be an idiot to use tags. If I see a running QB, I'm not going to take all my DBs out of coverage to stop the run, but I will challenge the QB to beat 1-on-1 coverage with spies and blitzes coming. I wont leave a blocking TE uncovered, but I will put and LB on him to free up my SS for other duties.. Likewise with power backs and speed backs, I don't need a safety to cover a PB, but I do for a speedster.

I've found it to be a pretty effective system that requires minimal tweaking in the regular season beyond setting the tags.

Personnel on the field tells you far more about what play is coming that down and distance.
