Rhine (AP)… In an epic defensive battle, the San Jose Chupacabra upset the Over the Rhine Red Dots 9-6 in action earlier today.
The game was widely predicted to be a blowout as the Red Dots had quickly established themselves as one of the most prolific offenses in the BBB 1.
“Film study man…made all the difference,” said Chupacabra defensive tackle Phineaus Dump, in between mouthfuls of a Arby’s Beef n’ Cheddar, “Coach Rawburst worked like hell on a gameplan against these guys, and he promised me extra curly fries…Aaaaaarbiieeeees….aaagghhhh…”
Kicker Bob Forstrom redeemed himself, kicking three field goals, two from beyond the 40 to provide San Jose’s only source of scoring.
But it was the defence that was the story. Holding running back Cooter Splitter to under 50 yards on the ground and forcing Canton Cannon into three interceptions played a key role in the San Jose win.
“We stuck with them and fought for the win. Everyone has been talking about how scary this offense is but I think we showed the league today that this defence is simply bad ass,” said Super Glue, who recorded two interceptions on the day.
The Chupacabra will go for two in a row as they face Minnesota next week whereas the Dots will play another strong defence in the form of the LA Reign.
