I've had a highly successful QB for many years now, but it seems so far in preseason, the completion percentage has been atrocious. I've been around 20% with 0 TD and 6 INT in 4 games. Partially attributed to a new team, I'm sure, but are others seeing a problem too? Any suggestions?

I also have trouble with it. My own QB completed only 27.8 percent of his passes last season at level 43 to 45. But he played on a really bad team.
But the QB on my team, which won a conference title in a lvl 46 capped league also completed less than 50 percent.

Hurries and sacks will hurt passing% and eventually your QB's morale during a game. How much confidence do you have? How many levels in Pocket Presence?

To answer a lot of the questions....:
I'm in the AAA league - so obviously there will be players and teams with the ability to shut down the passing game. Also, the games we played, we lost. They were close games, but I'm talking about passing games where I went 0-7 or 1-11.
His confidence is 64.8 - so that shouldn't be a problem. The new morale bonus is set to +11.2
Finally, his pocket presence VA is up to 8.
I think the main thing is, as crawlins said, the OC and game plan. The supporting cast is decent, but I've been hurried 5-8 times per game, resulting in 3-5 sacks per game.

Just looked at your last loss....although really quickly...and this is my thoughts.
Your OL is getting manhandled. I didn't check to see if they were out leveled but the left side especially was getting worked up pretty good.
Also, I'm not a big fan of 5 Wide sets...especially if your OL is having troubles. The 5 wide sets are too easy for DCs to set up blitzes that can get easy sacks.
Those are just the quick things I noticed.

I noticed the same things. The LT and RT are all set to run block, since we try to maintain a balance. In the game you looked at, the LT got worked over about a dozen times. I guess more of it is a result of the Offensive AI than any tactical changes. But that aside, do we think it's better to set to "Open Man", "Route Running" or somewhere close to 0 (In between)?

It depends on how your OL is doing. If you are having trouble with sacks and hurries, then I would certainly set to much more Open Man....if you are pretty sure you have a superior team/OL you can set to more Rout Distance. The safe way to go would be -40 to -50 Open Man...but that is just my opinion.

Thanks for weighing in. It seems the OT's don't want to switch to pass block, so I guess I'll need to settle for switching my tactics to open man. maybe -30 for starters
