What amount of Catching skill does my FB need to consistently catch simple passes in the flat? My OC kindly agreed to feature my FB in the passing game in the first scrimmage, and I rewarded him by dropping 5 out of 9 passes, all of which were wide open, and early in the game before stamina/morale was an issue. Very embarrassing.

His Catching skill is 34.
Vision is 50.
Jumping is 16.

Will 14 points (capping Catching) make a huge difference? I'd like to catch at least 75% of wide open passes at a minimum.

It depends on more than just catching skill

Carrying plays a big part if he is dropping them because they are knocked loose. Typically a receiving FB or HB actually needs carrying to be higher than catching attribute.

Getting % make catch gear and adding VAs that increase make catch % help as well. (for instance, Mr. Reliable can give a 30% bonus to making catches on 3rd and 4th down)

My FB has 51 catching and drops about 15% of passes he has chance at catching, but he has a lot supplementing that 51.
