he's the team leader in tackles and PD, always makes the conference top-10 for defense, but his build still seems far from perfect, and i want him to be dominant!

i just hit second softcap for Speed, now I'm going for the same softcap in Agility, then spend the rest of the season hitting the same cap for Vision, all while triple-training the three primary attributes. is this a good strategy, or do i need something more unorthodox to get his rating up?

well you start on SAs a little early, which hurts your build, and you should have had speed at 68 at level 10

but i dont think it is beyond repair. you should get speed to 68 (which you have done), then agility to 68, and then vision to 73, and then jumping to 68. as for training, it is generally not a good idea to train attributes that are already capped. i have not played around with the new training system too much yet, but im sure that it still holds true. while you are getting vision and agility up with SPs, i would probably be training jumping.

thanks! should I be training anything alone with jumping, you think?

ugh, don't i know it about the SAs. this guy was my first player, and I WONT be repeating that mistake with the other guys I've gotten since then.

i dont think so... i think its probably best to just train on light to get BTs for AEQ... although i havent done the math yet, so i could be wrong. im sure we will all find out soon enough now that the math wizards can get their hands on it.

and yeah, dont worry about the SAs. almost everyone does it on their first player, and ive seen people do much worse. but i wouldnt retire your guy if i were you. he is still pretty decent, and sometimes those builds can turn out to be great. my first player wound up hvaing the most regular season INTs of any 11 season career in all of GLB with 120.

Train on normal. Later in your career you can train on light.

this. now that ive done some math on it, normal in the beginning and then starting light around season 5 is a good bet.

thanks guys! dumb question: Worker 3, when you suggest training an attribute to x number, do you mean a natural x, or factoring in equipment boosts?

I'd argue that normal is always the best but I can't prove it, so there you have it.

how would you afford 4 pieces of AEQ with just normal? you would have to get awfully lucky with your shopping.

If you can buy additional SAs, the value of AE is for % bonuses and the addition of +3 attributes on each piece. It won't be very difficult to afford that on at least 3 pieces.

well for a CB, you often arent getting an SA AEQ that is out of your tree. you are usually going to go with SDC, and the point of that is to save some SPs, and SDC piece will save you about 22 SPs... thats an attribute that you can take to the next cap.

but for other positions, that are looking for out of tree SAs, i guess i can see the virtue of that. although, they could really only buy 1 more SA. after that one extra, the price starts to sky rocket, and then of course in order to get those SAs you have to pay for it in SPs, which is SPs that could be spent elsewhere.

So when you say cap speed. You are just solely putting all your points into speed and just leavin all other attributes alone until capped?

SO get speed to 68 leaving everything else constant
then
Agility to 68
then
Vision to 73
then
Jumping to 68

In the meanwhile train jumping? And once these are capped do you recommend working on catching then stamina? Or SAs?

^yup. thats right.

speed to 68 while training agility
agility to 68 while training vision
vision to 73 while training jumping
jumping to 68 while training....

at this point of the build, you can kind of start to do what YOU want. at this point you will have the basics covered, and so form here, you can go stamina (which i would probably recommend), or you can go tackling, or strength (which i wouldnt recommend right now since it doesnt get ALGs. you can work on it later), or catching (which i wouldnt recommend unless you are really trying to build for INTs. you wont really get many unless you build for it, and so its kind of pointless to add catching if you werent planning on building for INTs) and then around level 50, you can start on SAs.
