This is technically my 2nd toon but my first was a TE I retired after 3 seasons cause I screwed the pooch. WOuld like to NOT mess up this time on my Combo DT. Hoping, and please speak slowly(ie no abbreviations), that someone can tell me what I should be working on first. I have the 15 Skill points from creation left. Put my 23 att points in already. Mostly into strength, then split the rest tackle/stamina.

My advice, you should probably retire and start the build on day 41, if you plan to keep him long term, this is the best day to build a new dot.
The original points I would max out strength, put the rest into agility. When the new training starts up, probably day 41, train strength by itself on normal until at 30, use the bonus tokens to boost the agility training to level 2/3. Then train agility while putting points into strength until at LEAST 74.
I haven't really played around with all of the numbers yet, might need to create a spreadsheet for maximum build, but these are my original thoughts. If you are building for an elite dot, the plan remains the same:
Strength
Agility
Tackling
Speed
will be your most important attributes.
Stamina
Confidence
Vision
will also be important to bring up, probably sooner than under the old system, but I would still focus on strength/agility for the first third of the build. It is kinda boring and you won't be a monster in the minors, but should pay off in the long run.
The extra SA is also an important choice. For a combo DT, I would suggest First Step. but don't spend any SPs on SA Trees until level 50ish, I would probably wait until a little later than that even.
My 2 cents, I might be way off though.
Good luck man
*one last thing, with the new system you can run 3 good pieces of AEQ, this will make up for the limited points to put towards SAs. Don't shop until late in career, as you will find better stuff. Think about possibly splurging on a +3/5% Break block piece sometime in the future, agin I have to run the numbers on this, but don't plan to until I build new toons.
