I think everyone should get Streak now. My player (Zakia Machen) is totally transformed once I shifted points to Streak, and of his 109 sacks 18-22 are what we would consider "meaningful" sacks.

But the trick is don't do it starting with 1 streak, the chance of having a "bad" day is too high. Put points in other VAs first, and then when you have 10 you can shift over to Streak then do that. That's what I did for Zakia Machen so he doesn't get burn with bad streaks too often, and with 10+ Streak your chance of good streak is very high, and 5% bonus on attributes is huge.

OP is p spot on imo. Streaky can be a huge benefit to a DL (especially DE imo) but it's best used when you can max it out.

There are a lot of other good VAs for DLs as well so Streaky isn't a necessary one but I sure like it for my DE.

The way I did it is I first max both Technique Man and JTS. Then I use 10 VAs on others (Pass Rusher/Bull Rusher/etc.), as soon as I got ten I would reset and pour it all in Streaky, and then max that. Then work on others.

Streaky is huge benefit when you can max it.

So you get between 3.5-4.5 extra points on your primary stats and 2.5-3.5 on your secondary stats. I just do not really see the huge deal about that...

That's only about 140 SP or 28 levels. I see your point.

Thanks! Henne had some practice crying from his other three years starting in that game.

Streaky always has been a great VA for DLs. Don't be afraid to use it. I never understood why more players didn't have it

I think streaky is kinda like clutch. I like clutch for my CB's and secondary. trying out streaky on one of my DE's now.

the thing about these two VA's is when they work they can kinda make a so-so player above average or even great . but if your build is awesome and you have better VA's you would probably be a better player a larger percent of the time.
but then they also make a really good build even better. so... hhmm.

but yeah...
I think clutch is better served in a position like a CB who has a few other VA's maxed out or in better shape, so a later lvl for sure, and probably the same for streaky for a defensive position.
the downside could be harsh if your build is so-so ( and who here thinks they have a so-so build?) and you have a bad day in a crucial game though, and I'd hate to be "that guy".

so I'll probably get rid of streaky on my DE next season since I'll be playing that guy on a competeitive team and dont want that to happen.

just my random thoughts

I've been using 15 Streaky with a sprinkle of Clutch for several seasons and love the combo. It's hard to tell when you have a bad streaky day, a couple of missed tackles, no stats, things that are kind of common for all DEs with or without Streaky. But you can't miss a good Streaky day, all the other DEs on your team were shut out and pancaked in a close game and you had TFLS, hurrys and a sack. The occasional clunker is worth the great days that you get with this VA IMO.

My DE is about to hit his first VA's. What would be suggested?

Bull Rusher to start

Neg. Technique man is far superior to start off with. Unless of course you're a strength based DE. Then go bullrusher.
