Doesn't seem to be a lot of chatter about scat backs, so perhaps I wasted my guy, but would be interested in other peoples' thoughts about...

They can be very good if built right and used right. I would say end build looks like this:

Speed 77 natural (more if possible)
Agility 77 natural
Vision 63 natural
Catching/Carrying both 1st capped..

Im currently making a scat back i thought id use my free player to make one and experiment with him..Really all i plan to do is amake an elusive back im going to be trainign catchign so he has the hands but i dont think i will be adding many SP to it after i hit the first cap until later in his career...Really i think they can be more effective than any kidn of back because so many teams have absolutly no short yardage passing games because there backs can never catch having a 3 down back liek that coudl be a nice weapon for a team

I am tacking a crack at making a scat back. Seem that if used right they are near impossible to stop. Though I would like my guy to be a force running, this player http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1800247&playoffs=0 who was in our league last season really killed every team.

I have a non-boosting Level 11 Scat Back.

So far he has 68 speed. I am thinking of stopping the speed there to focus on agility to 68, vision to 61, catching to 61, and carrying to 48. At that point I'll see where I am and may get jumping up to 48 too. He is a non-boost, so I have to sacrifice some stuff. I'll be putting points in QC and FS (the favoured SAs) as well as the Scat Back SA.

I will be buying a +% make catch and a +% fake chance piece to enhance attributes.

Heavy Decline does that to you. Also, he was never built to rush. He's probably the greatest pass catching HB to ever play GLB. Hence him posting his player in this thread about scat backs.

I love scat backs. I like to keep three HB's on my team: one power, one elusive/balanced, and one scat. When you go scat, just don't go too crazy on the catching. HB's don't need more than 3/1 catching or 2/1 jumping. Build him identical to an elusive back with the exception of catching to 3/1. Let VA's substitute for catching stats. Good scat backs still need to run the ball, since OC's will commonly use them as a backup outside rushers to a standard elusive back.
