Tulsa Doom (5-1) @ Parma Panthers (5-1): How good is Tulsa, really? Sure they’re on a 5 game win streak but their one loss came against the only team of similar ilk. Likewise Parma’s cruised thus far, the only blemish coming by surrendering 10 points in the final two minutes to a Borg team they probably underestimated. Seems like when Parma bears down and brings their A game, they’re tough (see: W2). I suspect that’ll be the case here. Parma by 6.

LUX Borg (5-1) @ Naples Purple Nurples (6-0): Oooh, apes and machines. Somewhere Chuck Heston is smiling. Those Nurps look like the class of Alpha, whereas had you asked me a week ago who the second best team was, I would have answered the Borg, but now you could make the argument the Whiskies are the bride. Very impressive win last week by that group. I like that pass attack of the Borg, but I like the defense the Nurps play more. Naples by 17.

Warsaw Wolves (5-1) @ Lyon Winemakers (4-2): Has anybody played a more brutal schedule than the Winemakers thus far? At least goldie and co. can take solace in the fact that it’s basically smooth sailing after this one. Which makes this one all the more important in terms of playoff positioning. A win here and Lyon catapults into that group vying for a home playoff game or two; a loss and it’s Warsaw that starts greedily wringing their hands a la Montgomery Burns. Despite a heroic rally last week the Winemakers came up short, but I think the moral victory propels them to a win here. Lyon by 7.

The Legion (5-1) @ Bath Killer Bees (4-2): Similarly w/ the other GOTW, postseason ramifications abound here too. A Killer Bees win puts Zeta on notice that whatever kinks existed early in the season are long since worked out, whereas a Legion win lends some much-needed credibility to a team probably doubting itself a little bit after a miserable effort last week. I think the Bees win here to set up a huge game next time out against Dresden. Bath by 14.

Black Sea Raiders (3-3) @ Munich Keggers (2-4) Despite the records this is actually a reasonably big game, as the winner here remains in the hunt for the 8th seed and that little bit of green that comes with it. These two squads look p even on paper, with a slight to Munich if you’re going off level alone. Regardless, this is one I look forward to watching, as my guts tells me these two will be battling it for the WEPL crown next season and beyond. Munich by 3. WRONG
