That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
Now 33/33 on the season and a trip to Vegas may be in my future if this run continues. A couple of p dope lookin' matchups this week, and obv I’m biased, but none bigger than the Alpine v. Evil tilt. May decide the fate of all of GLB, tbh.
lolAlpha GOTW
E-City Mercenaries (3-1) @ Speyside Whiskies (2-2): Went back & forth between this one and the Black Hand @ Parma game for GOTW honors, ultimately choosing this one b/c I think it’ll be a little closer. I just don’t have a good handle on how good Black Hand is, tbh. And besides, were it not for a tough interconference draw, we’d probably have a battle of two 3-1 teams here. The Whiskers look to work their record back above .500 while E-City looks to remain near that top tier, hopeful somebody stumbles. The Mercenaries’ O hasn’t really impressed whereas Speyside’s looked p comfortable, battling in each game thus far despite being underleveled. I look for them to get the win here, setting up what should be a helluva W6 game against the Borg.

Speyside 47-13.

GOTW
Alpine (4-0) @ The Evil Empire (4-0) 55 dots apiece, each averages lv 70 w/ an effective lv of 74. Alpine’s got the edge in APV, Evil’s got the edge in chem. One could argue Evil’s the better team right now since our schedule’s been a little tougher, but I’d counter that that could work against us, in we’ve shown our hand a little bit whereas some might think Alpine’s cruised thus far. (Run-on sentence ftw!) Regardless, this one’s got all the makings of a fantastic game. Let’s hope it lives up to the billing. 0 predictions from me on this one, no chance.
Evil 34-13.
Hamburg Parrots (2-2) @ Belfast Commandos (2-2) Believe it or not, I’m actually looking forward to this one. That Parrot pass game is fun stuff, while Belfast is wearing people out w/ Jumbo at a 330 YPG clip. Add in the fact that neither team plays much defense and the fun ensues. I’m taking the Parrots but could see this going the other way too. Come to think of it, maybe I should just take the over? Hamburg by 6.
Hamburg 63-21.
Warsaw Wolves (4-0) @ Munich Keggers (2-2) Munich gave Alpine a fight in quarter one but couldn’t sustain it. Warsaw’s D is working on 9 straight quarters without giving up a point. I think that streak comes to an end here, but they won’t give up enough points for Munich to get the W. Warsaw by 14.
Warsaw 37-10.
Baden Bandits (3-1) @ Bath Killer Bees (2-2) I think we finally saw the Bath team we knew was there, just hadn’t found it rhythm or whatever. “They are who we thought they were!?!” Baden got to within 2 last game but a costly INT w/ under a minute ago was the nail in their coffin. Still, w/ that offense they’ll be a tough side against all comers. While it’s anybody’s guess which Bath team shows up this week, I think the Bees play well enough on D to get it done this time. Bees by 10.
Bath 43-19.
Rome Titans (0-4) @ The Legion (4-0) Boom goes the dynamite. The Legion by 255+.
Legion 495-0.
Rome Arcani (0-4) @ Lyon Winemakers (3-1) I just noticed Lyon’s schedule mimics Evil’s, only one week behind. Enjoy watching us, over and over and over again! Lyon by 175+.
Lyon 251-7.
Dresden Demons (2-2) @ Bjelasnica Red Star (1-3) Dresden’s a much better team than their record indicates. They should take care of business here. Dresden by 50+.
Dresden 124-17.
Black Sea Raiders (1-3) @ Stockholm Meatballs (0-4) After being ravaged by the Killer Bees, BSR is looking for vindication. Luckily they get the Meatballs next, who are quickly becoming Zeta’s whipping boy. Black Sea by 50.
Black Sea 44-10.
