sup WEPL sup

Gonna touch on one of the two games in lolAlpha that should be p good and then move on to Zeta. I figure everybody agrees the ultimate champ is gonna come out of Zeta so lolAlpha’s p much just a futile exercise to figure out who the second best team in WEPL is.

Oh, and just FYI: I’m taking the Mrs. on a little vay-cay so don’t expect any W3 predictions. Try and cope, k?

Parma Panthers (1-0) @ E-City Mercenaries (1-0): Went with this over the Naples/Belfast game only because I remember last season’s W11 game between these two was p epic. (An E-City win in OT.) I imagine this one’s going to come down to the wire too and there should be plenty of points scored, as neither team appeared very sharp defensively in W1. Imma take Parma; they looked a little bit crisper offensively and have an edge in the team chem. dept. Parma by 6.
Parma 52-10

Now then. On to the conference that matters.

GOTW1

The Evil Empire (1-0) @ Lyon Winemakers (1-0): As alluded to in the other thread, this should be a dogfight. Last season’s W3 matchup was one of the better defensive games I’ve ever been apart of, probably ranks highly imo since we came out on the better end of it, getting a FG in OT ftw. Evil looked sound in all 3 phases of the game in W1 whereas Lyon relied primarily on their ground game and had enough of a lead to stave off a valiant 4th quarter rally by the Doom. Sure, it’s early in the season but this one has playoff implications written all over it. Pick ‘em.
Evil 38-27

GOTW2
Bath Killer Bees (1-0) @ Warsaw Wolves (1-0): Both these squads come off impressive W1 wins, each by 30+ points. Historically these two teams are always near the top of the standings, a testament to their quality leadership, recruiting and game-planning. Depth abounds on both sides and this one should be battle. Can’t rely on team chem. to be the difference as they’re both about equal, so Imma give a slight edge to Warsaw simply by virtue of a little bit better depth. Warsaw by 3.
Warsaw 27-24

Baden Bandits (1-0) @ Dresden Demons (1-0): Almost garnered GOTW status as this one pits two more very talented teams. Dresden looked awfully strong in W1 showing good balance offensively (nice passing %!), while their defense completely stifled the Stallions. Baden held off a late rally from an equally talented Speyside team, mainly on the strength of some well-timed plays in the pass rush. I think that pass rush is the difference again here, despite being underleveled. Baden by 4.
Baden 27-19

Stockholm Meaballs (0-1) @ Alpine (1-0): Alpine finally gets a real team, although one could argue I’m using that term liberally considering Stockholm’s poor W1 showing. Alpine rolls here and finally gets to some beefed up competition next game. Alpine by 150+.
Alpine 122-9

The Legion (1-0) @ Hamburg Parrots (0-1): The Legion, likewise, also get a real opponent here after a W1 cakewalk and I’m as curious as anybody else how they respond. The Parrots have the level advantage as well as the luxury of a couple of ST specialists, but those dots on The Legion appear to be very well-built. For that reason, plus what looks to be a very fundamentally sound defensive team, they’re my pick. The Legion by 10.
Legion 40-12

Belfast Commandos (1-0) @ Rome Arcani (0-1): Both teams performed about like I expected in W1 although I was a little surprised Belfast won by as much as they did. They’ve picked up a SS in the last couple days, yay for that. Likewise, Rome has added a couple players on D too, but not enough to make them deep enough to be very competitive yet. Belfast by 20.
Belfast 101-49

Munich Keggers (0-1) @ Bjelasnica Red Star (1-0): The Keggers put up a helluva fight last week, ultimately coming up short, so look to rebound against a Red Star team that I’m still completely sold on, tbh. Just too many inactive players on the Red Star for me to have much confidence. Munich’s underleveled but but I think they overcome that and get to .500 here. Munich by 9.
Munich 21-15

Rome Titans (0-1) @ Black Sea Raiders (0-1): Not sure why Rome didn’t request demotion. Raiders by 255+.
Black Sea 452-0

xoxoxo

Now 24/24 on the season.

as I said, Ted is a two edged sword... and it makes no sense because he has higher carry than most RBs I know.

I mean, if I told the league the number everyone'd go 'wha?'

I'm happy to be playing Belfast again.

Most of the players currently on NPN were on our farm team, the Trondheim Wolves, through the end of season 12 when they won gold in WEAA4. Belfast gave us a couple of good games that season. Different look without GG though.

Good luck Belfast.
