those builds make my eyes hurt...

Never said they were good. Just that they were actual builds in a Pro league. BTW, they aren't from my team either.

And I think it's important to take into account what Worker 3 said: Any speed and agility advantage you might have is easily erased by SDC.

That basically leaves you with:

Jumping
Vision
Strength

I don't include catching because a CB doesn't have to catch the ball to be successful. I have a slight to moderate advantage against all in Jumping. However, most CBs I've seen really invest in vision. Sadly, that leaves strength, where I have a tiny advantage over some but a disadvantage over others.

Just curious - how much does SDC help? My lvl 27 slow build will be faster and more agile than the guys you've posted by the time he levels up enough. But we're not talking about a massive advantage by any means - maybe 10 points of speed, 5 of agility.

a ton... SDC is easily one of the best SAs in the game.

and also keep in mind none of those CB builds are even that good. most of their fault lies in EQ placement (no good CB is going to have 100+ speed since, again, SDC = god), but each and every one of those builds has an area that is extremely lacking when compared to an elite CB's build.

Just curious, but what does an elite CB's build look like? Also what would be a good WR build to counter such a build?
Is my lvl 30 WR on the right track?

i'll pull a few from LHF's private forum for you guys
... and thats the thing about these builds. there really isnt a solid way to counter them. with the advent of archtypes, things will get easier for you though since a lot of CBs are going with the man spec archetype, and those dont get strength ALGs, so power WRs will work very well, and possession types will have such a ridiculous catching roll that a CBs PD score wont be able to stop it. the variety in WR builds and types will make it very hard for a single CB to be able to cover all types of WR effectively. but yeah, i'll run to LHF's PF here and grab a few current elite CB builds for you guys.

here are 3 open builds of very good CBs. 2 of them (Yes Man and Lomas) played in WL, and Duger played his final season in USPL and didnt give up a single TD.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=71979 (LHF's retired CB)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=365592 (hate to toot my own horn... but he was pretty good)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=46524&playoffs=0 (WiseI\/Ian's retired CB)

more to come after i go get something to eat

Wow those are some pretty good CBs. Those are some sick stats for your guy...120 picks omfg! Bet it was painful to retire him.
Looks like I'll need to get my WR's Jumping, Agility, Strength, and Vision up if I want to compete against CBs like that.

are you talking about the ones posted by kramer or the ones i posted? because i would be hard pressed to find many builds better than those (also keep in mind those are all season 1 and 2 builds... before slow building) i could post other builds, but i would rather not post a build of a player that isnt retired. i could, i guess run one through the old "non archetype" builder to simulate a good build for you guys to look at...

This. A good CB build these days is going at 95/95 speed/agility, 75+ vision, 68+ jumping, with 10+ in swat ball, shutdown coverage, and super vision, with something close to 8 in change direction. All of this doesn't include all of the VA's firing, like ballhawk, mentor, etc.

You don't have to post builds to say what a good build is.. All CBs generally aim to what joseph said, and that is a good CB although I'd say a little more vision, because every good CB I've seen has Football Genius.

but its always best to show that the builds are possible... and what better way to tell someone what an elite build looks like than to show them one.

with archetypes things are probably going to look a bit different though...
