got some NT's trying to decide on, I run a 3-4 with my slow-build team, and all my dt's have decent points in d-line gen (all from aeq so dont rape me for using sp, i didnt), anyways, ive decided to select the run-stuff arch, simply because no matter how well built the dts are, they will rarely make much of an impact in the pass rushing game, my d-ends are superior and get tons of sacks, so i really dont care if my tackles get any sacks, but anyways, my delema:
First Step or Tunnel Vision

i realize you can get both in advanced, which i plan on getting the other one (opposite the arch sa) on an equipment piece, so what it really boils down to is:

what is better at high level on a mainly run-stuffing dt with some limited pass rushing abilties
5 first step + 8-10 tunnel vision
or
8-10 first step + 5 tunnel vision
??

if it were purely a pass rushing dt i would say tunnel vision hands down, but since they are run guys, i am at a crossroads.. all opinions welcome. no flame.

None of them? :/

I would definitely not take either for a run stuffing NT.

Then what would you take? There is hardly anything that is even slightly useful.

Balance - No, will have more than enough strength, never gets caked
Closing Speed - No
Change Direction - No
Diving Tackle - Meh, No
First Step - Somewhat Helpful, decent sa for just about every position
Gang Tackle - No, don't need gang tackles
Monster Hit - No, don't feel it is that great at all
Relentless Pursuit - Not terrible choice, but more for d-end, might pick this
Superior Vision - Decent, good for every position
Tunnel Vision - Good sa
Wrap-Up Tackle - No.

probably gang tackle in my opinion since you're basically near the entire D-line when you make the run stop. Can really help for those powerbacks. I took Monster Hit as my bonus SA for my run stuffer...maybe that was the wrong decision, but it appealed to me.

I took monster hit as well. A fumble can really turn a game around.

You are OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!

The only choice is between aura of intimidation or wrap-up tackle, really.

I was considering Gang Tackle since the D line is right there next to you, but then, two yards might be a tiny distance in the sim. When I look at replays, two yards is about the diameter of a dot, so do defenders have to be literally touching for Gang Tackle to work?

If the bonus is bigger than Wrap-Up and D line is often two or less yards away from each other, it might be awesome for D linemen, especially to succeed on TFLs against power backs with SYM. I think I'll wait to see if people figure out how useful it is first, though.

Not many other choices out there.

+1 I like this. You ever see a running back take it right up the middle for 5-10 yards? I think this will work for a NT because there will be several def. player within 2 yards trying to stop the run.

My issue with gang tackle is that it only affects tackle CHANCE not tackle QUALITY, by the text of the SA :\

Disagree on First Step. I feel it is useful for a NT. It seems to me that initiating contact is important for improving your odds of winning position on the LOS, and possibly improves break thru percentages.

Aura of Int for this one, ESPECIALLY since they're in the middle of everything.

FS is godly... you want ot get FS to 10. TV only works on pass rushing and you said you want to be a run stuffer.... pretty self explanatory.

Depends on what type they made, I didn't read the whole thing but for a run stopper, Aura is prolly a must.
