I've been around GLB a while, but never had any experience making a punter. Most of my experience is with WR and OL. I've made a kicker and he's doing very well so I figured I would try my hand with a punter. I wanted to get some opinions and do some research first, so any advice?

Pump pretty much all of your early points into punting, along with every piece of equipment

More Punting, probably less Confidence.

And some vision thrown in for good measure.

When you're done with Vision, start on Strength

well doesn't this change with the new archtypes?

I mean wouldn't you do it slightly different now, depending on which archtype you choose?

Boomer
A boomer punter focuses on punting the ball with power. He is less likely to hit a coffin corner or pin the opponent deep, but he gets great hang time and can get the ball far down field when needed. This power can lead to more touchbacks, however.

Major Attributes: Confidence, Punting, Strength
Minor Attributes: Agility, Jumping, Vision
Favored Special Abilities: None
Penalized Special Abilities: None

Technician
A technician punter focuses on accurate punting. He can hit coffin corners and pin the opponent deep without getting touchbacks, but he lacks power. The hang time and distance of his punts tend to be lacking.

Major Attributes: Confidence, Punting, Vision
Minor Attributes: Agility, Jumping, Strength
Favored Special Abilities: None
Penalized Special Abilities: None

Now for either type I would still do punting up past 80, before the equipment. But now with the 2 types one makes vision a minor ability, and makes strength the major. So based on that, after getting confidence to the 3rd cap, I would then worry about my 3rd major to the 3rd cap first and foremost. So if it's vision then so be it, if not, then it's strength to the 3rd cap. One slight change in the way to build them.

what do we all think is the stamina requirement for a good punter?

Good question with the archetype. We know that Corners are still good (for pinning deep as well as yardage, since TBs are 20 yards less against your average.

We also know currently when corners tripper the punts go longer. Or will that get fixed?

So can leg of steel or good strength with an Technician be better than a Boomer?

And other than the points that go into a major and minor att, is the archetype mean anything? (i.e. it will have other effects)

I wouldnt bother with too much stamina as your only on the field about 3%-5% of the time... So you dont use that much...
