Opinions on which is better?

Was going to make a thread

Both are against zone defenses.

Look off says it increases chance whereas Quick read increases BONUS.

This is not true. Look Off only works vs. Zone Defenses. QR works against both.

Look Off looks like a new sort of fake but only against zone D

quick read is just faster reads + bonus to "open man".. which I don't get.. if the guy's not open, he's not open.

You've seen replays where a QB is staring at a clearly open man and doesn't throw to him, or doesn't progress quickly enough to an open one.

It's awkwardly worded but that's what I think it does.

I think the problem with Look Off is that zone-heavy defenses don't appear to be that common and scrapping the Zone Specialist VA to make it a new SA isn't very likely to make it more popular. Then again, I don't watch the WL and Pro leagues so perhaps zone is much more prevalent at the highest tiers. Against man coverage defenses it is probably only going to occasionally fool a FS or SS playing over the top.

Quick Read sounds great, everyone bitches that the QB rarely goes through more than 2 progressions unless you are calling long passes and telling the QB to wait for routes to develop. Of course there is no telling how it will work until the sim starts back up, accelerating the QB reads could just cause him to pass over primary receivers that are covered early but that get separation later on.

Wish they had something better, like 'Adjust Pass Angle', so can loft or bullet as needed or 'Avoid Sack' with quicker throw away or pass to last checkdown read.

The other problem I have with Look Off is that if it works really well like Pump Fake used to, expect a nerf.

You could game it. If you think that WR1 can come clean later, just set up a progression like WR1, WR2, WR3, WR1, TE.

IMO Quick Read is easily superior.

I went with quick read ... the Faster you get the ball out the better

It's probably worth noting that PP's thread in the Test Server forum indicates that Pump Fake rarely worked (but was almost too good when it did) and that Look Off almost never activated in his multiple test games. Will they get tweaked? Probably, but I'd be surprised if Look Off goes from never firing to being really powerful.

I took QR. Which ever way you go at this point its a gamble, but I figured if look off worked (or worked too well) all the defensive dots would cry and it would soon get the nerf.

So I just went what I though was the safe route (plus I like the idea of speeding up reads).
