1. 14-1 Naples Purple Nurples (vs. E-City):

Naples win clinches #1 seed. Naples loss creates at least a 2-way tie (and possibly a 4-way tie) at 14-2, but unless E-City puts a 37 point beating on them or Graz and Parma both lose and the tiebreaker becomes head-to-head, the Nurples should have the points allowed tiebreaker cold. The #1 vs. #2 matchup is a clear GOTW and features two of the best defenses in the league.

2. 13-2 E-City Mercenaries (vs. Naples):

See Naples commentary. If they beat Naples, Graz loses, and Parma loses, would finish with the #1 seed. If Naples wins, Graz wins, and Parma wins, they'd be in 5th on the head-to-head tiebreaker with KCR.

3. 13-2 Graz Grizzlies (vs. Birmingham):

With a win and Naples loss, gets share of at least a 3-way tie for first. With a win and a Naples win, gets 3rd seed with a Parma win or 2nd seed with a Parma loss. With a loss, should be the 4th seed unless many other unlikely things happen.

4. 13-2 Parma Panthers (vs. Vatican City):

With win and Naples win, gets the 2 seed with head-to-head over Graz and a 1-game lead on E-City. With win, Naples loss, and Graz win, gets the 4 seed with the most points allowed among the 14-2 mass; with win, Naples loss, and Graz loss, gets the 3 seed (both unless some odd things happen with shootouts wrecking the current PA standings, or I misunderstand the common opponents tiebreaker as it's applied in practice).

5. 12-3 KCR B&B (vs. Italian Stallions)

With a win and an E-City loss, move up to the 4 seed most likely (though things get hectic if Graz or Parma gets upset). With a loss or an E-City win, should stay in the 5 spot with HTH over Tulsa.

6. 11-4 Tulsa Doom (vs. Burnt Orange Rising)

Should win, won't matter--they've clinched the #6 spot and ensured that I want no part of the 3 seed this season.

7. 8-7 Vatican City (vs. Parma)

Has head-to-head over the Blackhawks and the Underground, who play each other. Guaranteed the 7 seed as a result; could draw the Panthers in back-to-back games, amusingly enough.

8. 7-8 London Underground (vs. Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks)
9. 7-8 Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks (vs. London Underground)

Play-in game for the 8th seed...which makes this the second game of the week, after Naples/E-City. Expect a barn-burner in this one to contrast with that defensive struggle.

Actually in a 4 way tie I think we would have the tie breaker, as we would have beaten both Parma and Naples, Graz would have beaten Naples and us, Naples and Parma would have one win each, and we have given up less points than Graz (at least so far). And a 4 way tie is the most likely outcome if we should be able to beat Naples.
Tie breaker points allowed, likely would go to E-City over Graz and Naples over Parma
1. E-City 14-2 (2-1)
2. Graz 14-2 (2-1)
3. Naples 14-2 (1-2)
4. Parma 14-2 (1-2)

In a two way tie in case of a Naples loss we would hold the tie breaker due to head to head
1. E-City 14-2 (1-0)
2. Naples 14-2 (0-1)
3. Parma 13-3 (2-0)
4. Graz 13-3 (1-1)
5. B&B 13-3 (0-2)

In a three way tie it would depend on whether Graz or Parma drops out of it with a loss.
1. E-City 14-2 (2-0)
2. Naples 14-2 (1-1)
3. Parma 14-2 (0-2)

or

1. Graz 14-2 (2-0)
2. E-City 14-2 (1-1)
3. Naples14-2 (0-2)

Of course all that is hypothetical if Naples wins.

We actually only lost to Parma to see both the oldest teams in WEPL alpha on 1 and 2.

My head hurts

I think I will wait until post game 16 to look at the playoff scenarios. Reading this thing twice could cause my head to explode.

I see where you're coming from but I'm uncertain how GLB handles certain things. Here is the list of tiebreakers:

1. If there are only 2 teams tied (same record), higher seed is the winner of the head-to-head match up.
2. If there are more than 2 teams tied (same record), then it's based upon these factor in this order:
1. Number of head-to-head wins against the other tied teams with the same record.
2. Number of total points allowed.
3. Number of total points scored.

1. E-City 14-2 (2-1)
2. Graz 14-2 (2-1)
3. Naples 14-2 (1-2)
4. Parma 14-2 (1-2)

If we end up with those standings, would it use the 2-1 records to separate the 1-2 records and then take the winner of the head to head between E-City and Graz? We looked at the scenario of 4 teams finishing 14-2 and weren't sure if it would be

1. E-City 14-2 (2-1) (first based on points allowed tiebreaker)
2. Graz 14-2 (2-1)
3. Naples 14-2 (1-2)
4. Parma 14-2 (1-2)

or

1. Graz 14-2 (2-1) (first based on finishing 2-1 against tied team and winning head to head versus E-City)
2. E-City 14-2 (2-1)
3. Naples 14-2 (1-2)
4. Parma 14-2 (1-2)

Pretty sure it would be the former, as soon as there are more than two teams with the same record the first tie breaker would be out of the picture.

Don't think there is any way how Graz could finsih third, so a meeting with Tulsa would be in round two at the earliest.

nice! thanks for doing these.

Playoffs are going to be very interesting. Any team from Alpha 1-6 could legitimately win the conference.
It will be interesting to see if player decline has a big effect this late in the season too. I would be curious to see the average level for each team now, compared to the start of the season as well.

Tulsa isn't a threat. We only beat one top team, and it was just a good RNG game for us. Pay no attention to the team from OK....we are an easy win for you.....

If you lose to Naples we are tied with Naples and we lost against them, so weīll finish third.
