Is it worth it? The ones I have right now are a +5% Deflect ball chance piece and a Swat Ball piece. Obviously I'd be switching it for the Swat Ball piece. It's probably worth it, right?

I would say no.

In RL CBs, closing speed is the bees knees. As the Special Ability is defined in GLB - not so much.
