My WR is not too bad at getting open yet after making the catch he slows down and gets caught from behind. 3 questions

1. Will higher agility help him get up to speed again faster?

2. Does FS have a benefit in this situation?

3. Is there anything else he needs?

FS only fires from a dead stop, so, no. Catching will help him take the ball in stride better without losing speed. Also pretty sure there's a new SA next season that is named exactly that or something similar.

actually I think FS fires from near a dead stop, so it could help get going again after a catch. I've seen WRs really take off after making the catch which I'm pretty sure is FS firing.

But catching and vision both help catch the ball in stride and not slow down.

And yeah there's a proposed extra SA:

Catch in Stride Offense
This player knows how to catch and pull in a pass. The Catch in Stride ability increases the chance that this player can catch a pass without slowing down.

This skill can be important for speedy receivers who have trouble pulling in passes quickly.

Additional Levels:
Increases the chance of catching a pass cleanly.
