Texan's Week 12 Picks
Current Record: 153-23
Flick that Bic, put on the acid wash jeans and join host Casey Casum for number 1 hits of the 80s.
Naga
SLS (10-1) v Saigon (10-1)
Ah, SLS faces what looks like Naga's top team. Will the Whores take them to "Funkytown" or will SLS turn Naga "Upside Down"? SLS has really shown me a lot in their first pro season and they seem to be heading towards a home playoff game, but I think Saigon probably has too much firepower this time. Saigon 38, SLS 24.
NBA (10-1) v PDP (6-5)
A killer stretch in PDP's schedule continues against a nasty Jam squad that is "Sailing" towards a likely top 2 seed. PDP pulled the Saigon upset and would love to do it again to the Jam in a case of "Another One Bites The Dust". Unfortunately I don't see that as likely. Jam 31, PDP 20.
Monks (10-1) v Tibet (8-3)
Big win by Tibet last time out to keep PDP from catching them in the standings and now "Private Eyes" will watch them take on one of the trio of Naga's 10-1 teams. The Monks got blasted last time but they look to recover here by getting a little bit "Physical" with Tibet. Barn-burner. Monks 35, Tibet 31.
Thai (6-5) v HKH (3-8)
Thai is rolling now and "Call Me" crazy but I think they could be a real spoiler in the playoffs. HKH is definitely safe from relegation now and can concentrate on building on their first pro season to prove they "Truly" belong. Thai 42, HKH 14.
Bali (6-5) v Rumrunners (0-11)
Bali is looking good to make the playoffs for the first time at this point and escape the "Down Under" of Naga. The Rumrunners put up a valiant fight to get here but they'll have to do it again next season in AAA and they can keep "These Dreams" of pro legitimacy alive. Bali 65, Rumrunners 3.
The Blue (5-6) v Mekong (4-7)
Siblings collide in a very important game for both of their playoffs lives. I "Can't Fight This Feeling" that the loser may not make the big dance. One of them will "Live To Tell" about it and frankly it's a tough call. Mekong is trying to put together one last charge with a full roster and I like their chances to pull this one off. Mekong 24, The Blue 23.
Bacolod (5-6) v CMM (1-10)
Bacolod is still hanging around in the playoff picture and will have a shot the whole way. CMM was "Holding Back The Years" for quite a while but now rebuilding. I don't think this will "Take My Breath Away" but it will be a solid win. Bacolod 38, CMM 17.
SCSK (3-8) v PPW (0-11)
SCSK saw the last of their slim playoff hopes evaporate with their loss to Mekong last time out and I'm afraid that's just "The Way It Is". PPW is probably not even reading this, so I could say anything whether it makes sense or not...like "Abracadabra"! SCSK 56, PPW 3.
garuda
Krungthep (11-0) v Bangalore (11-0)
Krungthep tries to polish off another rival in garuda what is easily the GoTW. Bangalore has yet to look "Human" in dominating everyone but fool was quoted as saying "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now". Both teams just look so good, but I think this may be the game where Bangalore's depth catches up to them. Krungthep 38, Bangalore 28.
LSP (10-1) v Buffalo (8-3)
Another tremendous garuda matchup and an old school one at that. I have a lot of "Faith" in both teams and I definitely can't "Look Away" from this one. Both teams got beat up by Krungthep, but actually put up a fight and you know they want a shot a revenge in the playoffs. Look for LSP's rising talent to give them the edge, just not by much. LSP 30, Buffalo 28.
Tet (10-1) v Lampang (5-6)
Tet got their backsides tanned against Krungthep and you know they're going right back to little brother Lampang's room to take it out of them, "Straight Up". You know Lampang wants to avoid that "Shakedown" but they'll be facing an angry and determined Tet team. Tet 45, Lampang 10.
Lucid (6-5) v MMJ (1-10)
What a huge, season-saving win last time out for Lucid and you know they've got "A View to a Kill" for MMJ. MMJ is pretty much living "Separate Lives" from the garuda contenders this season. Lucid 75, MMJ 3.
Sweatshop (6-5) v BKK (4-7)
BKK is not used to being out of the playoff picture, but it's almost to that point now although I'm sure they're saying "Don't You (Forget About Me)". The Sweatshop was stung by Lucid's low low prices and now they need to regroup to solidify their postseason lives or they'll "Shout" for fair wages, causing Sik to bring out the hose again. Sweatshop 42, BKK 20
Sydney (5-6) v Ottawa (4-7)
Sydney is clinging to that final playoff spot but incredibly Ottawa is right there, having won 3 of their last 4, "Hangin' Tough". If Sydney loses here they'll lament "Good Thing", where have you gone? Sydney 24, Ottawa 20.
Singapore (4-7) v RSR (1-10)
The Canes are part of that 4-7 log-jam that is clinging to their hopes at the big dance and they probably won't be "Satisfied" without it. RSR meanwhile would love to snuff out that "Eternal Flame" and ensure their own survive in Pro. Canes 17, RSR 16.
Dharma (CPU) v Danang (3-8)
Welcome back to the win column Danang, this will be 2 straight, which probably feels like "Heaven". Dharma is just "Bad Medicine" and not in that good way... Danang 255, Dharma 0.
