So a few questions on direction, and things being changed for next season.

First, I'm of the mind that 68 SPD should be about where I'm shooting for, just wondering if anyone has any conflicting testimony otherwise.

Secondly, if going to 68, since the auto level gains at this point are minimal I'm guessing it's best to just go ahead and run SPD up and then come back and work VIS to 60, or does anyone think a staggered plan might be a better idea?

Third, since the stacking of percentage EQ is effectively destroyed for next season, that basically leaves the ability to keep one blocking% piece, along with two different SA pieces, specially on the back end of the dot. Has there been any consensus on what SAs greater than 10 are actually worth? If it's not the greatest boon in the world I was thinking that leaving both Lead Block/Pancake at 5 and then using my two equip pieces on them would be the most efficient use of skill points.

Last, any build comments or suggestions are always welcomed.

Be warned that if you follow your plan to work on speed first and get speed to 85 with only ~30 vision, you might find you run past defenders pretty frequently even with 80 agility or more.

I did something similar around the same level you are now, my FB used to have 86/87 speed/agility and 38 vision. He would pinball back and forth between defenders instead of hold a block and frequently he'd just run right past the D-line and LBs entirely to block a safety, leaving the RB to be tackled behind him. I remedied the problem by taking equipment out of speed/agility to slow him down, putting it into strength to help block better, and working on vision. So if you want to follow your plan, I suggest that you begin to transition equipment out of speed and into strength to try and stay with 75-80 speed as you spend SP in it.

As far as AEQ/SAs go, Pancake isn't all that impressive on a FB. They just don't have as many opportunities to pancake players as O-linemen do, and even O-linemen should avoid it until they are higher level and have10 Get Low already because that helps on all run blocking in addition to causing more pancakes.

Here's my FB, he just hit level 51 2 nights ago and is working toward 60 vision.

Check out my posts in this thread where I linked the last game my FB had 86 speed as well as the very next game after moving out some equipment, the difference is obvious: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3668242

I agree with you to a point on Pancake, the only problem is since HB doesn't stack anymore, you're usually looking at one HB piece and two SA pieces, I figure one in Lead and one in Pancake since the rest of the blocking tree is terribad, and the bonus SA isn't going to cost that much to boost.

Thanks for the post, so it sounds like taking it to 60 while training vis up to 35ish then taking VIS to 50 with my boost next season is probably the best bet, before going back to work on SPD some more.

This is some interesting reading, right here. I've noticed that lately with my FB. The pin-balling and running right past defenders.

Thanks for this post, because I'm going to see about changing some of my gear to help with this problem.

Hitting certain caps is tightly coupled with ALGs. Since FB doesn't get ALG in SPD, you don't have to go for some cap in it. Using SPs and EQ (less SPs than EQ) you should have speed somewhere between 5 and 10 less than the HBs you are blocking for.

When the Archetypes hit this offseason, that will change. But for now, take SPD to the first cap, maybe second and then use EQ to adjust to the SPD of your HBs.
