<’’’> WESTERN CONFERENCE <’’’>
Rank … Team ……………….. Record … Streak
1 … Monmouth Evil Monkeys … 7-1-0 … 6
Well does MEM really belong back in the USAPL? Probably not, but that loss from the Nerf sure hurt! A huge game this week will determine a lot for the rankings, but this may be MEM's last real game of the season. They close out with a great matchup with KKAR, but that's really going to be a bigger game for KKAR going into the playoffs than MEM. In fact if things continue down this path, KKAR may want to throw that game just so they don't have to match up with MEM until the Conference Championship game.
2 … Cincinnati Shockers … 7-1-0 … 5
I'm not sure if they ever figured out what happened with the KKAR game, but I'm sure they got back on track since they took down the Nerf and went on a tear through teams. This next game is THE game for them. This will decide a lot in the rankings and could decide between a #1 ranking or a #3 ranking. This might as well be the playoffs for the Shockers! Once they get past this game, things should look good for them, but a win over the Battalion would sure be nice to have to close out the season.
3 … New Jersey Battalion … 7-1-0 … 1
The Battalion had a scare early in the season, but have been pouring it on since then just like normal. They played a solid game against MEM, but couldn't keep pace with them. I sure they're not worried about the Assault, but they've got a rough 4 games ahead. It's hard to count out those other teams, but I could see the Battalion come out on top and take the #2 seed for the playoffs.
4 … Mentone Beach Assault … 6-2-0 … -1
I still have no idea how in the work the Assault are ranked this high, but I think I have to thank the Masterminds for destroying us in Week 1 and letting everyone believe they can overlook us. Well too bad all things have to come to an end and MEM grounded us. The next two games will be killer, but after that I think things are looking good for the Assault. They've proved they can play with the upper tier teams, but have had to rely on luck for those wins. If we can figure out how to channel that luck, we may even get a playoff win!
5 … Bortsville Mystery Nerf … 6-2-0 … 4
The Nerf surprised the USAPL with a win over MEM and made sure everyone knew it too! Then they went on vacation and dropped a game to the Assault and then the Shockers. Since then the Nerf has been pouring it on and not letting teams come close to beating them. They still have a couple of teams that could give them problems, but I wouldn't be surprised to only see 3 losses on their record by the end of the season.
6 … Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals … 5-3-0 … 4
KKAR got the unlucky draw of facing off with Alpine to start off the season. Then they lost a crazy shootout with the Assault right before taking down the Shockers. Only to follow that up with a loss to the Beasts! Since their vacation, they've been rolling teams and ready to move back on top of conference. Downside is they still have to play some of the top teams to close out the season. Even with losses there, I don't see KKAR missing the playoffs at all.
7 … Austin Longhorns … 5-3-0 … 2
The Longhorns seem to beat up on the lower rank teams and then get worked by the upper tier teams. It's like a Katy Perry song with them! They need to find some balance and play strong in every game to secure themselves a spot in the playoffs. Their next game with the Nighthawks will be huge as this could have a big impact on their ranking. Their last game of the season against CCIA could be huge as well.
8 … Northwest Nighthawks … 4-4-0 … 1
The Nighthawks were cruising along before getting shocked by the Assault; I mean they lost against the top teams, but that was probably expected. Now with rest of their schedule against teams fighting for a playoff spot; each win will be huge. The Nighthawks should make the playoffs, but they can't get surprised again or it's all over for them this season. They were lucky enough to get Brokeback to start off the season and the Flyin' E to close out the season.
9 … Chicago Beasts … 4-4-0 … -1
The Beasts are winning the games they're supposed to, but are having a tough time with the upper part of the standings. They'll need to finish off strong in order to make the playoffs, but they've got a long road to go with a very hard schedule to close out the season. There's a good chance they could miss out on postseason play.
10 … Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens … 4-4-0 … 1
CCIA has had a weird season as they got close to beating the Battalion and going on a strong winning streak, they were blown out by two of the top teams. It really seemed like CCIA had turned things around and ready to go on a tear, but had a major set back. They still have a lot of winnable games coming up and should compete for a playoff spot. The downside is going to be their player's age; they're getting old and as the season goes on, they keep declining. This could be a problem come playoff time, but a huge problem next season.
11 … Canton NFL "Busts" … 3-5-0 … -1
It's been an up and down season for the Busts, but they're still doing okay; however, they still have some monster teams to play to close out the season. Their loss to the Longhorns and CCIA are going to come back and haunt them around playoff time as they sit just on the outside looking in. They really need to work on surprising a team or two as they close out the season. They have a solid mix of youth and experience on the roster so they should be coming back strong next season.
12 … SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL … 3-5-0 … -5
The GROWL are in a brutal part of their schedule, but things should look better for a while. They still have to close out the season against too tough teams and this will make any playoff hopes very dark. I'm not sure if it's going to happen for the GROWL this season. They took a healthy Chemistry hit to start off the season as they retooled their roster with some youth, but they look to be one more round away from having a younger and stronger roster. They're safe from demotion, but I'm not sure about the playoffs; I think it's time to hit the recruiting trail early.
13 … Minnesota Skulls … 1-6-1 … -2
The Skulls start off their Pro life with a Tie; fortunately for their record this was a good thing as they have had issues all season. In the heart of their schedule right now; things aren't looking good for their first season in the Pros. The good thing is they should remain up here for another run next season. With their aging roster, they need to begin the recruiting process now. Currently they look like this may be their last season.
14 … Gaines Panthers … 1-7-0 … -7
Good news is the Panthers should win their next game; bad news is the game after that is to stay in the Pros. At this point that's their playoff game this season. A loss could send them back to AAA. The Panthers did get lucky and win the draw to go up against the Chocolate Turtles to start the season, but they've had issues ever since.
15 … Oakland BlackReign … 0-8-0 … -9
Oakland has had a rough schedule, but outside of a few games left; I don't know if they're going to pull off more than a couple wins this season. They should take LVFE so they should remain in the Pros if they can win one more game before the season's over.
16 … Las Vegas Flyin' Elvis … 0-8-0 … -11
They only have 8 player left so they're pretty much CPU and gone for the season unless someone else goes CPU before the Flyin' E plays them.
