He will be retired after this season, I just wanted to get everyone's opinion of how his build ended up. Thanks

I love his speed/agility, and his strength probably plays a large role in the running game, but his vision kind of hurts all the good things going on with this build.

If you were to do it again, the points put into catching past 48 should go to vision. It also looks like you trained carrying. Should of gone with the vision/confidence training reg.

Carrying was a mistake. Confidence Should be capped, stamina needs to be capped. Those are the things you left a little short on the CB.

That being said, I don't mind the 65 catching...and vision, while great, is a bit over rated when it comes to DB's. Everybody seems to think all DB's need 70 vision. 70 is better then 58....is the 30 SP's you have to pour into your vision to bring it up to 70 from 58 going to be worth it? I'm not so sure about that.

I really like the build, not terribly productive though...I think his height hurt him in regards to winning jump balls and meeting the ball at the zenith to get an interception.

Build is 8/10 to BP. Body Type and other "short" stuff bring it to a 7.5. Before decline I would have rolled with that CB as a starter on a AAA team, or a backup on a Pro team.

Vision/Jumping > Catching,strength and tackling

BTW to BP I think jumping prolly hurt him in jump balls and lack of PDs... maybe vision would have helped??

Not as important as agility from 58 to 70, but yes, it's important to spend the 30 SPs.

65 Catching is useless on a CB. USELESS.

It's not useless. 100 catching isn't going to make your CB "catch" everything close to him...but per bort it turns PD's into interceptions.

Catching has it's place for a particular kind of CB...high risk/route jumping. Is it the best attribute for a CB to pump, nope...but can you build a particular type of CB who's production will be positively effected by alot of catch, definately. I've seen it done..

maybe the vision would have gotten him a little better jump on things, but PD's are just a result of your PD roll which I think is pretty much all jump/strength. But you need the position obviously to even attempt the roll.

I didn't say that 100 catching would turn your CB into a catching god, and although it's been said that catching does do that, the sim over the pass few seasons disagrees and it's probably minimal at best. Catching is useless past the softcap. By all means, waste points in it if you want to....

The CB has to be in position to even get the PD roll. Winning the roll, sure, jumping/strength may play a large role. But if the CB isn't in position, ala Vision/Speed/Agility, Jumping and Strength is pointless.

we agree on the importance of vision/speed/agility in order to get in position to do anything.

As far as the effect of catching, we'll just have to disagree. I have access to the builds of a few high catch CB's and I will go as far as to say that they lead their team in INTS by CB's and do so every season. So it works. It's not a waste past 49, but you have to build your CB to take advantage of it through +% Int/PD pieces/jump/vision/tactical settings.

Not saying it's the best thing ever, but high catch can lead to good things done correctly.

I can say that I had a pretty good cb that only had like 40 in catching and I dont know if it was the nerfs or the comp but once I soft capped catchinghis picks dropped and no he was not in decline. 35-48 catching is about the same in success rate of INTs IMO.

Jumping was WAY low and cathing WAY too high. I really like his speed/agility though. I also think capping stamina and conf. would've been a good idea.

Catching with such low vision imo is a waste. You could have waited longer and only second capped catching, but second capped vision earlier, and you'd be better at interceptions imo.
