Its naive to think there will ever be a cure when theres so much money in treatment. Think of the billions they would lose if the drug companies no longer had to sell medications.
On the flip side, maybe they'd make it a one time cost of 50-100k or more.Dunno how I missed that post.
You know, beeing in the medical field myself I think its a bit of a tinfoil hat theory that pharma companys wont produce a cure if they could; comparable to the conspiracy theorys the automobile industry already has the plans for non-carbon based fuel locked up somewhere.
Correct is they are out there to make profit and are somewhat ruthless but there are only a handfull of big pharma corps. that actually do/sponsor research and these are living off their blockbusters. The rest is producing genericas or licensed active agents (Ratiopharm i.e.).
Pharma doesnt get that much money considering their developmental/research costs (average 10-12 years and $800 million) and patents are only guaranteed for 20 years.
