Texan's Week 4 Picks

Current Record: 43-5

Naga

NBA Jam (3-0) v St John Rumrunners (0-3)
After a tough start, the schedule is doing no favors this week either for newcomers St John, they better call Captain Caveman pronto. The Jam is hardly known to act like Care Bears against their over-matched opponents and this time will be no different. Jam 90, Rumrunners 3.

Monks (3-0) v Mekong (0-3)
Monks are off to a hot start, blazing out of the gate like Dangermouse. Mekong meanwhile is Curious George as to how their rushing QB fumbled 1.5 million times last week against PDP. I think Mekong regroups this week and puts up a good fight with their QB-centric offense but they are just not enough for the Monks at this point. Monks 32, Mekong 20.

SLS (3-0) v HKH (1-2)
Things were looking promising for HKH earlier when they were 1-1 but a punishing loss to PDM has them reeling. They are hoping to put out a quality performance but I have a feeling that they will struggle against the Snakeheads d-line like the Gobots did in ratings versus the Transformers. SLS 27, HKH 13.

Saigon v Mutant Smurfs
Saigon is looking tremendous early on this season and are searching for a challenge. The Smurfs are likely to think this is more like week 1 than 2 or 3. I'm surf they'd rather face Casper the Friendly Ghost, but they're more likely entering the "Dragon's Lair". Saigon 57, Smurfs 7.

Tibet (2-1) v SCSK (2-1)
SCSK started off nicely but got a reality check against Saigon. Tibet started off against potential Garuda champion Tet but has since righted the ship very impressively. One of these newcomers is not like the other. Look for Tet to go GI Joe on SCSK and make them wish they'd stayed home and just played "Dungeons and Dragons". Tibet 42, SCSK 14.

PDP (1-2) v PPW (0-3)
PDP got off to an uncharacteristically slow start, but now they seek to at least get back to .500 while playing Fraggle Rock on PPW's home field. PPW may as well just have some "Gummi Bears" and watch the show. PDP 85, PPW 10.

Bacolod (1-2) v Bali (0-3)
Bali hasn't won yet but they've actually looked pretty decent in a tough schedule. Same story for Bacolod, but with a free early win. Bali would love to get their first win of the season in HBO Storybook Musical style, while Bacolod would rather make this look like a Grimm Fairytale. Extremely even matchup imo. Bali 17, Bacolod 14.

Thai (1-2) v CMM (0-3)
You would never guess these two successful pro teams would have a combined one win at this point. CMM's offense has actually looked like "Hero High" but their D has been woeful. Thai may have righted the ship after last week and now feel more like the "Getalong Gang". They say defense wins championships but it also seems to win just your everyday average game as well. Thai 42, CMM 33.

garuda

Bangalore (3-0) v Dharma (CPU)
The Superfriends over at Banglore just look like Godzilla to a CPU team. Bangalore 255, Dharma 0.

Garudas (3-0) v BKK (2-1)
Two Pro stalwarts collide like "HeMan" versus the "Herculoids". It's hard to big against BKK since they have given me 2 of my 5 incorrect selections but I just think Krungthep is an elite team this season. Garudas 38, BKK 17.

Tet (3-0) v Sweatshop (1-2)
Tet has come out of he gate strong like the Incredible Hulk while Sweatshop has looked more like Inspector Gadget thus far in a tough schedule. They have been in very tough early defeats but not quite pulled it out, much like PDP. Unfortunately for them the schedule remains very stout against a Tet team that looks like a challenger for the garuda throne. Tet 31, Sweatshop 17.

LSP (3-0) v Ottawa (1-2)
LSP has rocketed from where they left off last season like the Jetsons while Ottawa's introduction to pro has been fraught with peril to the extent that they'll need "Kidd Video" to help them analyze all the problem tape. Much like the Sweatshop, Ottawa's early schedule is just mean. LSP 35, Ottawa 20.

Lampang (3-0) v Lucid (1-2)
Lampang's early schedule has not been as fierce as some of the other newcomers. Lucid is hoping to go Q*Bert and take Lampang by surprise but Lampang is feeling like Mighty Mouse right now. Lucid hasn't quite gotten it together this season as of yet the way I expected. Lampang won't quite get their rude awakening to pro yet imo. Lampang 23, Lucid 20.

Buffalo Rampage (2-1) v MMJ (0-3)
Buffalo looks to go Schoolhouse Rock on MMJ and I don't think even Voltron can save them. Buffalo 110, MMJ 10.

RSR (1-2) v Danang (1-2)
Both teams are down but not out and both have looked pretty good. This battle will be worthy of Thundercats v Thundarr billing. This is a pickem game imo. Danang 20, RSR 17.

Sydney (1-2) v Singapore (0-3)
Sydney looks to rebound to .500 while the Canes are looking fondly at next season. What would happen if Robotech invaded the Strawberry Shortcake universe? Ok, it's not nearly that bad...could be close in fact. Sydney 27, Singapore 20.

Thanks for the vote of confidence... only an 87 point spread?

edit: Also, 45-3 is really good!

Agreed - and I know Fool is proud.

But the GoBots? C'mon man, we're not that bad, lol. The Snakeheads, however, are that good - we'll have our work cut out for us...

haha, no you aren't that bad at all, just needed something to contrast to transformers.

VJ, wrong decade for Hello Kitty and Pikachu...same for Boris and Natasha in the other direction.

I am going to try to make S14 all 80s...if that is possible anyway.

Kingdan: no, I am no gentlemen, that was more a commentary on Tibet's possible elite status rather than an insult t you.

LOL of course you mention Hello Kitty, VJ. I think it may fall to you to make them relevant to SEAPL. And I think we both know how you'd go about it.

Good deal. I'm hoping we make the spread if Bort doesn't nerf us first.
