Disclaimer: DImmy Finster is new to this league and doesn't know any of the personnel.
If you want accurate predictions, read those of CementMixerB.
1. Queensland Exiles. They have it all. A great staff, great owner, top notch builds, awesome depth.
Their RB Bo jacksson destroyed us last time we played, breaking about 100 tackles more than any other team we played.
And their D hits HARD, forcing all sorts of fumbles. They did get beat in two preseason games,
but preseason is preseason. All I know is these guys should be the favorites.
2. Winnipeg Warriors - they return most of their personnel from last season's near-playoff team.
I've seen their DC first hand, and he's top notch when he's active. They have great builds, and always have good offense.
Their RB Wendell Dickerson is a great receiving threat, and there are no weaknesses in their secondary.
3. Moncton Mosquitos - Was at the top of Canada Pro for much of last season, then their scheudle got tougher.
They've lost some more talent, so I may have them a little too high.
But I do know their OC's are tricky bastards, running a different scheme every game .
And their DC's run schemes that show certain holes, then take them away.
Losing depth may be too much to take. But I have a lot of respect for this staff.
4. Saskatoon Silverbacks. Champions of AAA #2. Throw out the preseason with this team,
they have Rellascout as DC. You're looking at the best DC in GLB, the guy that makes
Bill Belichick look like Tom Cable, the man that single-handedly led the Silverbacks to the championship last season.
They'll be good this season too.
5. UNL Husker Maniacs. Don't know a lot about this team either, except they're veterans of Canada Pro
and their open builds are pretty good. They did play SquareEnix pretty close (one of my benchmark teams),
which tells me they're playoff caliber, but not championship caliber. We'll see.
6. Windsor Walruses - A playoff team last seaosn, lost some talent. Some open builds, bu they're pretty good.
If the open builds are good, it's a good sign.
7. KC Gorillas. KC features an original GLB'er in HC Tricon, who I believe was with the Boston NIghthawks
when they won USA Pro 2 year in a row. I think he was also with Windhoek when they won all those Africa pro championships.
We have a legend in the division! I know their OC from another team - eastcoastbrian - and he's a great OC
. He has big shoes to fill in trying to fill bhall's slot. Preseaon results have not been great though, including a beating to Texas.
8. Tadoussac Whalers - They have always beaten my team, so I"ll rank them above us.
Robsalvador has always recruited big strong players (as opposed to speed types), and done a great job at it.
He'll need it this season, as his team is lacking depth. Looks like DanNava (famous in the S forums)
has taken over for longtime DC bigblue.
9. Moose Jaw Roughriders - D got obliterated with zone getting Borted.
Have looked shaky in preseason, nothing approaching their strength of last year.
10. North Delta Huskies - another classic team looking to rebuild on the fly.
Ate some bad preseason losses, and their depth is a little low on levels.
They do have some well-known GM's including cowtesticles (of pipi Longstocking fame) and jxgator (of Monmouth fame).
Just not sure he talent is there this season.
11. Thunder bay Wolverines - Came out of the weak AAA #2 East as well.
Brutal schedule, having to face Arrowhead in their East game. Started off well in preseason,
but has eaten 3 tough losses after that, including 2 beatdowns in a row.
Even though Chief Pioli is the owner, historically we have heard from CoachCoughlin in the forums a lot more.
Historically you can throw on Thunder Bay and we'll see if that's true this season.
12. St. John's Salty Dogs - Lost a lot of talent and are trying to reload on the fly. I don't really know this team,
except that they have 100M in their coffers (!!). They have some famous agents in asheme and jrry32
as well as JoeBuck but I"m not sure they'll be able to put it together just yet.
13. Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen - Came out of AAA #1 where they lost a close game to
powerhouse Queensland, which might've been the closest game Queensland played all season.
Preseason has been brutal, and it looks as if they've lost a lot of personnel. Depth i s abig problem, both in numbers and in levels.
14. Windsor Black Knights. Came out of the weak East in AAA #2. They feature a balanced O and D,
that doesn't seem to play as well vs. really good teams.
Had a nice win over Village Dogs in preseason 1, but ate 3 huge losses after that.
NOt sure they have the guns to compete.
15. Manitoba Matadors. A storied franchise guts. Somehow they're holding on to a few players?
How about sending O RLY this way to Moose Jaw?
16. Thunder Bay Bloodhounds. Gutted team, all CPU's
