In your opinion, which of the following has the biggest impact on a DE's performance:

•Level of opposition (i.e. a lvl 15 DE playing against a lvl 10 OT)

•Build

•Advanced Tactics

•DC’s gameplan

• Playing on the strong side vs. playing on the weak side

•Other

Just curious what the general consensus is...

Definitely build, but if you want huge sack totals...you'll have to go against lower level lineman or poorly built lineman.

I've noticed this too, why do LDE's get so many sacks, is it because those are the DE's usually with higher strength?

It could be in part because a common RG might be built for run blocking, and set to run block. This would make it easier for a LDE to get to the QB on a passing play, particularly if the TE is off running and not blocking.

Generally though the build appears to have the greatest impact.

Is that why both of your DE's play RDE?

I played RDE last season, and won trophy for third most sacks, also had 2 sacks and 2 ffumble on the qb in playoffs, don't think it's must diffrence between LDE or RDE if your build is good.

my bad.. i meant RDE.

oh yeah tactics are low key important too.

LDEs gett doubled while RDEs usually aren't.

I took an equal lvl OT to school and have taken plenty of higher ranks. Its all build.
