my lv 33 OLB currently has two pieces of ae, 1 is % break block chance/% deflect ball chance. The other is % break block chance/% make tackle chance.

so he's currently got +15% deflect ball chance, +25% break block chance, +15% make tackle chance.

am i an idjit for focusing on these instead of SA's?

For what it's worth, I run the same setup on one of my LBs. It works great-for the time being. If you happen to be a LOLB though and you roll a Shutdown Coverage, definitely consider replacing your deflect ball piece with it.

For an OLB those pieces are very good I think.

Depends on the build overall. You're only an idiot if you are passing up on an SA that you plan to take to 10 or 11.
