Setting all the gamesmanship aside... Just how much time do you guys put into scouting and setting up an offensive gameplan? I'm almost embarrassed to say, but it takes me about three hours per team, per game. Are any of you OCs out there in the same boat?

(I got the idea of asking from the "Hey Winona" thread but didn't want to shang-hi the direction there.)

It depends on the matchup for me. Sometimes I can see right away just how I want to attack a team, and sometimes it takes longer.

I have an AI that can be drastically changed in just 15-20 minutes, but watching game film takes time. So I spend anywhere from 30 minutes to two or three hours on scouting for each game. And it's also why I OC for only one team.

Playoffs I would say 4 hrs for the game. O and d.. Regular season is more of watching my team/other teams, getting the right feel for your team/ never showing your hand completely, and just always making note of what your team does the best.

Just because Valhalla can avg 16 yards per reception doesn't mean te drive/skinny post will work for you !

But for a real playoff game, it is all tactics, I am sure the rest of the league does this as well

I agree with Mr. Stern there but I also leave "iffy" plays in intentionally with an "adjust quickly" attached to them. Just so I can test those waters and escape right out of it.

I guess I should have said that I spend that amount of time on the harder games. Easy games probably go 30 minutes max..

Thanks for being straight up guys. I appreciate that. Arrowhead/Bangalore is within a season and a bit of having run their course and I'm really having to think about this game and what I want to do after that. This game can be a strain trying to compete against you guys and Bort at the same time!

Which team do you OC for?

I spend too much time gameplanning/scouting

pretty much this...i OC several teams so spending too much time on one plan usually burns me out...generally will work with what is doing best for the most part...might look at a couple replays to see if there is a play ive been dying to try out that didnt feel would work usually...but thats about as far as it goes. Playoffs im usually on all day talking myself into and out of different plays to use...usually why I end up going home early...

it also depends on if i am working by myself or have some helpful scouting from other agents...if i can bounce a couple ideas off on someone that found me some weak links i might spend a little more time on a plan...but generally dont want to put forth too much effort in the lolregular season.

like haole said, it depends on the matchup... some you can ID right away.

others not so much.

sorting thru personnel groupings to tag or not tag a team takes a good bit of time...

especially in the playoffs.

one can easily piss away 3 or 4 hours...

Having two teams in the same conference of the same league, expecting playoffs for both, not wanting to appear like I sandbagged one to assist the other, etc.... I got all excited when I saw you (VJ) there, but you disappeared real early on. The league has a serious case of melancholy.

playing in the WL has occupyied most of my time this season.

weve had a few key members of Buffalo's core group of GMs had to drop out of GLB this season.

so I havent had nearly as much time as I usually do for forum antics...

plus CPL has horrid forums...
