I currently have a piece of
+2 carry +1 Head Fake maxed out (2 carry/5 str +3 Head Fake)

I just rolled a
+3 agility
3% hold block

My build so far is

Physical Attributes Football Skills

Strength: 88.1 (+21) Blocking: 56.1
Speed: 62 Tackling: 15.62
Agility: 74.1 (+7) Throwing: 8
Jumping: 8 Catching: 16.62
Stamina: 28.62 Carrying: 60.1 (+2)
Vision: 23.62 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 22.62 Punting: 9

I want him to be a good blocker but I really want to be able to use him on offense. Is Head Fake worth having for a FB or should I trade out the AEQ for the agility bonus and some hold block help?

I plan to get his speed up as much as possible w/ the next couple lvl ups.

3 or 4 Head fake is probably all but useless and isn't in either of your trees to make it easy to raise without more AEQ in it.

Also don't forget that FBs get ZERO automatic gains in speed, ideally you should wait as long as you can before raising it. Strength and Carrying should be your top 2 concerns if you are trying to break tackles, get Strength to 73.25 and carrying to 68 or higher ASAP. Strength should come first since it also helps block. The problem with speed and head fake is that he will never be fast enough to break big plays, especially without any equipment in speed, so even if he fakes out a defender he is still going to be wrapped up quickly. Better to focus on breaking tackles or just blocking.

Also know that the more blocking oriented you make him, the better your chances of being signed by good teams.

Head fake isn't all that impressive without a ton of agility/speed.

While you can possibly squeeze some offensive production out of your build, I would just make an offensive build FB and keep this guy as a pure blocker... since you kind of started the build off on the wrong foot to really be much of an offensive weapon. You would have to sacrifice a fair amount of blocking ability to be an adequate offensive threat.

The simple truth is that in order to maintain a decent amount of blocking ability, you cannot really be an offensive threat (you'll be sub-par and a sub-par offensive player is a flat out a waste). Although, you can be an offensive threat and maintain enough blocking ability to be a sub-par blocker (a sub-par blocker can still do his job much of the time). Unfortunately that's just the way of GLB.

Granted, this is under the assumption that you'll be on a decent team... if you end up on a team with poor offensive players, what's another sub-par offensive player after all... If I was an OC and I had much more dangerous weapons, a FB with sub-par offensive ability would probably never get used as an offensive weapon. Just saying.

Thx for the thoughts, fellas. I appreciate it.

How is my FB too late to make an offensive weapon, though? I only have 56 in blocking, no equipment and I thought a power FB rushing was a good thing? I figured the only thing missing was some more speed and a bit more carry and he'd be a good rushing FB. Why do you think otherwise?

One more question - I also have a +2 agility +1 route run maxed to +7 agility +3 Route Run. It's also not in my tree but figured any boost on running a route would be a good thing. Another wasted AEQ?

It's not too late, but you didn't really maximize the build to be an offensive build (that's what I was saying). You mentioned that you wanted to be a good blocker, it's basically impossible to make a FB that is good at both blocking and offense... you can make a FB that is good at offense and "meh" as a blocker or a FB that is good at blocking but "meh" at offense... although, since blocking is the easier road to build (less attributes needed to be effective), it's a better idea to make an offensive/balanced FB than it is to make a blocking/balanced one.

As for the AEQ... anything that isn't +% break tackle chance or blocking focused (+% hold block, +lead block, +pancake, etc...) is a waste IMHO.
