So, for me this year my team competed in the official tournament, Air-Attack, Mid-Major, Silver and Halo's. I think that was it. We did pretty good and had a lot of fun which is the entire point. But I started to get headaches trying to figure out all the days when games should be scheduled and when they are going to overlap and saving dates for this tourney and that, and then I had a brain storm. We love playing in these I know more will come up as people think of creative things (i.e. Air Attack)
We are pretty nice and civil here in the Pee Wee land and I figured if anyone is going to be able to pull this off it would be us. I propose that we have set Tourney Types that play on specific days. Most Tourneys provide 5 days between rounds (official is a bit different). So what if we created 5 "classes" of tourneys
Each class would have a set day that games are expected to be played and you wouldn't be able to sign up for more then one tournament in each class.
For example:
O-Class: Day 3, 8, 13, 18, 23, 28, 33
- Official Tournamnet
R-Class: Day 4, 9, 14, 19, 24, 29
- Air Attack
- Special Teams Showcase (this is fake I just made it up)
L-Class: Day 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30
- Silver Tourney
- Copper Tourney
C-Class: Day 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, 31
- Gold-Silver Challenge
- Mid-Major
S-Class: Day 7, 12, 17, 22, 27, 32
- Halo's
- Joe Bob's Invitational
If Tourney Organizers could agree to something like this it would really be helpful to us who like to compete in as many as possible.
Pros: People know what they are getting into, schedule a random scrimmage on a day you previously agreed to and you forfeit. Tourneys should stay on time and not get behind or delayed due to scheduling conflicts.
Cons: Takes greater cooperation from tourney coordinators, Limits free choice of what you can compete in (like if a team only wanted to do Halos and Joe Bob's Invitational and not the others). Doesn't account for tourneys that start later in the season (Like the Air Attack did this season). Official Tourney would need to be on board with it.
