For a NT which is better? Should I just try to get a run stuffer piece like wall or break through instead?

I'd say shed block > strong base. I'd also say shed block > wall, unfortunately.
What I think everyone will agree is that shed block > break through...

Depends on the defensive scheme. If your NT is shifted where he is normally only blocked by 1 OL and is used for rushing the passer then shed block is better. If NT is double teamed a lot and is a high tackling, pure run stuffer then break through.

The answer actually depends in *great part* on your build.
SAs and the rest of your build are inextricably linked in relative effectiveness.
Position and defensive role has a lot to do with it as well, as Rage noted.

Here are some guidelines, specific to DTs (DEs are different becuase their angles of attack are different, and their opponent has a different build) :
(in no particular order of quality)
Wall- works better with high strength
Shed Block- Requires credible agility *and* strength (you should be breaking blocks pretty well with just your attributes before this has much effect).
Break Through - Requires very good strength and credible agility, and the right positioning.
Strong Base- requires very good speed to use effectively

I'm under the impression that break through actually doesn't work very well -_- and those I've discussed with in the past have agreed.
Kind of assumed it to be the accepted opinion, but I'm curious. Why BT > SB for a pure run stopper NT?

Break Through works about as well as the rest of them, given the right underlying attributes I think.
I certainly wouldn't say BT>SB in any categorical sense, and certain SA combinations seem to have some synergies as well.

Really? Do you think this holds true for (power) DEs as well?

Well, my old NT tried two pieces of break through and I couldn't tell a difference, yet 1 piece of wall and 1 piece of shed blocks was quite noticeable :|
And other people I spoke to about run stopping NTs agreed, so dunno...
