Should he retire and start over? Did he make mistakes, or do you think this is a good bulid?

It's not a great build. It's below average.

I'd retire it... but I'm really picky.

That's what I told him to do. And I think you're being kind.

No SAs before level 40 IMO.

i have a 2 time mvp and a few lvls higher with almost 100 agil. but that was my plan to be high agil.i think if he concentrates on 1 atrib. and become a speed or str. or agil. build he might bring him around.put all eq. into 1 atrib. to start.or if ya wanna start over no big deal you can really build what you want now with the new player builder.or he could be really good by lvl 50+
who knows, just a thought.(5 sa points in big sack was a waste)

Yeah, this isn't good. I'd retire the player and start over. It's not unsalvageable but he won't ever be a stand out IMO. At best, I'd say he can get to average.

As rj24221 said, he needs to focus on one stat, preferably str or agi. Way too many points spend on SAs at this level. His VA picks are strange for a 50 str DE although that easily fixable.

Have you asked him what his plan is for developing the player? Maybe he knows something I don't?

He keeps talking about how many sacks he got last year, and he's upset that we have builds superior to his starting ahead of his. He keeps saying that we didn't give him a fair chance to prove himself, and we keep saying that the better builds are simply going to perform better.

He doesn't have a plan for developing the player as far as I know, or if he does, it runs counter to every piece of good advice I've received in this game.

Last season's stats don't mean much to be honest. My DE had a huge jump in production last season then a huge drop off this season. Same player, same team, roughly same level of competition. The only change is the sim.

This sim changes so much that it's tough to compare season over season stats. It's more relevant to look at how he did versus the rest of the league/team, which you probably can't do at this point.

As for proving himself, if he has decent play time, it should be obvious who is more productive. You just need to look at his numbers of plays versus the starter's and figure out how many hurries/sacks/FF/etc the two average per play.

He has 345 plays with 5 hurries, 0 sacks.
The starter has 594 plays with 33 hurries, 8 sacks.

Seems pretty clear to me that the starter performs better. Even if you give this guy another 200 plays, you'd only expect another 3 hurries out of him and maybe 1 sack.

Either speed/strength/agility should be at 78 cap at level 16.

So I think he's doomed for average play cause he missed out on lots of level ups.

It would take too long to salvage him...chalk it up and start over...

Thats right, only 1 build produced better in the entire league. Would not you coaches after a fantastic season at least gave him a couple of starts in the offseason to see if he could do it again. He was tops 2 seasons in a row.

He will quickly become completely unproductive due to the early investment in SAs.

Sorry.

He was made to excel early in his career, but he's going to fail relatively soon.
