Why in peewee leagues do I see teams scrutinizing the HB rush so much? I can assure you that the HB rush is a very effective play and that you can NOT shut it down.
Be my guest and give it a try, but a balanced offense that incorporates the HB run is going to be more effective than one that doesn't. If there is really a team that uses their backup rushing HB only on rushing plays they deserve to be shot. Please god come out in a SS/FS outside blitz man coverage defense every play just because my backup HB is in, I'll tear you to shreds.
Every single play in GLB has its advantages against certain defenses, their is no "useless" or "easily stopped" play because their should be no way for a team to know which play you are running.
There are going to be exposed parts of every defense you make that given the right play call could lead to a touchdown without even a single missed tackle, lets not forget that some plays are designed to alternate between losing a yard and going for a touchdown.
Even the best outside HB rush defense is going to give up big plays to a 99% HB roll out offense, because missed tackles do happen. My point is, stop hating on people for using the HB rush just because you hate the fact that you have to adjust every defensive play you make to prevent it from being exposed to it.
This game, when played at its best, is a very complicated one which should never be brought down to such simplistic and obviously wrong generalizations.
